People Magazine 100 Most Beautiful

Angelina Jolie Tops Most Beautiful List :: She’s got that pregnant glow, but it is Angelina Jolie‘s humanitarian efforts that make her most radiant, according to People magazine. The pillow-lipped actress graces the cover of People‘s "100 Most Beautiful People" issue, on newsstands Friday. It’s her fourth time on the list, but first as cover girl. "She looks the most beautiful when she’s in the field — natural, no makeup, nothing," the magazine quotes musician Wyclef Jean, who worked with Jolie on a relief effort in Haiti. "Because you see Angelina, the angel. It doesn’t get any better than that." The magazine didn’t forget her boyfriend Brad Pitt, or her two children, either. People named the globe-trotting Jolie-Pitt clan the "World’s Most Beautiful Family." The world may have to wait several more weeks for the arrival of the Brangelina offspring: Jolie told NBC News that she is shy of eight months pregnant, according to MSNBC’s web site. In the interview, which was set to air on Thursday’s "Today" and on "Dateline" Sunday, Jolie also said she knows the baby’s gender but did not disclose it, according to MSNBC. The actress, interviewed in Namibia, is awaiting the birth at an African resort. Also making the "Beautiful People" list, which until this year was limited to 50: Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Kirstie Alley, Ryan Seacrest and University of Southern California quarterback Matt Leinart. All 26 spokesmodels of the NBC game show "Deal or No Deal" were also chosen.

Angelina Jolie takes the cover People Magazine’s ’100 Most Beautiful’ issue, hitting newsstands tomorrow.  Not 50 this time. 100!!  This special double issue contains all of the same photos of Brad, Angelina, Maddox, and Zahara in the Namibian desert that UK’s Hello Magazine published earlier this week. I also received word that Jennifer Aniston isn’t mentioned in this issue AT ALL.  Now is it time to throw that pity party?

WATCH :: Ann Curry interviews Angelina Jolie in Namibia on The Today Show this morning @ 7AM ET/PT.

Great that Kirstie Alley is on the list. She was gorgeous in her prime and she’s made such a big effort to get back into shape. She’s now sexily rounded. # 159 | lylian | April 27, 2006 11:22 AMYeah, she looks really good now. Good for her. I still can’t believe that Ryan Seacrest is on the list. Geez…they should have put Simon instead.

Did anyone see the today show this morning? Angelina looks so happy and content. I’m so happy for her and her family. I can’t wait to buy the new issue of People. She really deserves the title because she is so so beautiful inside and outside. I love the Jolie-Pitt family. They really inspired me to read on the UNICEF & UNHCR and to do what I can to help.

Rudedog– don’t you think you’re stooping a little low–(even for you) come on- you’re giving us BAMZ fans a bad name.

#205 MGates, I understand your point, I respect it. Also I understand that you like Liz Taylor and I know she is a grear supporter of AIDS organization, ppl from Liz generation like her, because they knew her beautiful period of stardom. I bet you consider her the most beutiful person when she was young( mine is Sofia Loren). This generation belongs to Angelina Jolie and all the young stars who are involve in all this causes. Angelina have done wrong, and like any other human, it is a chance that she could do it again. Yes, we really love Angelina around here, but honestly, we know she is human, one that is trying to do better to others.

AG has invited discussion on education and we are still spewing garbage at one another…you want peace in the world??? Where does it start???As for education, this is an imperitive goal in order to teach and communicate alternatives to war, injustice and genocide…it starts with Children…give them opportunities at education and we have cultivated minds for creative resolutions. Ms. Jolie is merely using what resources she’s been given to shed light on this issue…it’s time to get proactive in the world, instead of reactive. There was a poster yesterday who criticized privatization of natural resources, including water. Government usually does not effectively manage, yet we have not considered the benefit of community collectives who have gathered forces and achieved some economic independence. This isn’t about IMF, its about FAIR TRADE and the ability to control ones financial destiny. (See Costa Rica).

Lack of AIDS education. There’s a big difference because talking about sex in most countries is still taboo, never mind planned parenthood and other birthcontrol. With wars/terrorism, you get multiple rapes of women and children. You must actually change a culture of not speaking of such things. The Middle East is still refusing to believe that AIDS is on their doorstep like some African nations. The Middle East has no excuse with all their money.By the way I caught Oprah last night and she had a great show. She made sure to let everyone know that she’s been on the humanitarian trip for over a decade. LOL!!! Gorgeous George Clooney was on talking about his recent trip to Darfur with his Dad. There is a rally this weekend in DC encoruraging the US to do more for the peacekeepers in Darfur. That show also showed clips of Lucy Liu and Lisa Ling (formerly of the View) out in the field. Love those two. And of course Angelina and her USA ad she wrote read by Oprah.Check out Oprah.com messageboards. It’s a treasure trove of information about yesterday’s show. So many people who reside in the affected regions have written on those boards. It’s heartbreaking. So many are written by lifelong missionaries and Peace Corps people… But beware, the haters are there too.

In respone to #135 I can’t sleepAfter reading your #135 post. I understand what your problem is……..insecurity. Your husband married you for who you are (inside and out). So it doesn’t matter whether you have lips like Angelina or not. And don’t take things so personally……Angelina is not interested in your husband so you don’t have to worry. Lastly whats the purpose of your post anyway? To broadcast to the world that your husband loves you and he’s faithful. This should go with saying.

I wish richer nations will see the light and help educating people of poorer countries. Why is terrorism growing? … it is because of the perceived notions of injustice and exploitation of the mighty WEST.

#205 / MGatelast month, my sister who is an MD came home very upset. Apparently, she had read in one of the medical journals that a high ranking official of one of the African countries had stated proudly that he had no fear of getting the HIV/AIDS virus because he takes a shower after every sexual encounter…..A Shower? Do you belive that? Why was my sister upset? Because she works with a team of African Doctors all over the U.S, whose major goal is to push for the provision of AIDS drugs to Africa. I’ll never forget what she said "maybe instead of just looking for the cure, we should into prevention…..Education"Now if a high ranking official, who I’m supposing is a little educated can make such a statement, what do you think the woman with four children in a village somewhere in the outskirts of town, thinks? How can you disregard the importance of Education? The children in those countries will one day grow up to be what….obviously not good leaders because they lack the education to do so. Then, we have the same circle begin all over again….where they need help from foreign countries. Education is all about enpowering. In an effort to debunk the work AJ is doing, you have reduced the value of education to nothing. AIDS – Caused by improper hygiene (using the same needles for a lot of people, having sex without protection….) – Might education in Intergrated Science & Biology help in this matter?Famine – Caused by lack proper food preservation Techniques – Don’t you think the a proper education in Agricultural Science would do some good in this area?Poverty – Lack of a good means of support because they don’t have the proper training to get these jobs. Please, I ask do you not think a good education in will come in here? Say what you will about AJ but don’t try to discredit her by rubbishing Education. The foundation of every society is the education of its Youth. (Denis Diderot)Education for ALL by the Year 2015!!!

    # 236 | African GirlThe foundation of every society is the education of its Youth. (Denis Diderot)===========I truly agree with this. However, certain people are very wary of educating less priviledged members of the society. Why? Because of perceived loss or lessening of power and control.

Education can come in all forms. I was in Port-au-Prince Haiti last year and you know what I saw? Because so many do not go to or have ever been to school in that country, something needed to be done about educating people about health issues asap. Knowing the love Haitians have for music and song, the volunteer doctors and a local translator created songs from the symptoms of diseases as well as their treatmnets. They couldn’t read or write but they had memory and memory of song. Listing the stymptoms of an ailment would be the lyrics and the chorus would be the either the preventive meaures or the treatment. The meoldy would be what ever they chose complete with drums and handclapping and demostrations of someone suffering from that ailment or disease. Ingenious! All this was to empower local village communities with information so that if they or anyone experienced symptoms, they were encouraaged to seek medical help as soon as possible.

#249 / Phil Anthropist. Thanks for posting that. I especially like the part where is states "we are giving these students tools to effective advocates….."That is the purppose of Education. To give us the neccesary TOOLS to become EFFECTIVE advocates for something productive to society. In a course of writing a paper last year, I came across these words written by an African writer, he says "I am glad I’ll be dead, when the children of today become the leaders of tommorow" when asked why, his reply was "look around you, do you think they have the proper tools to make them good leaders or anything else for that matter?" That made me really sad. What a bleak future he just painted for the rest of us.Education = Enpowerment.Education for ALL by the Year 2015!!!P/SWhat is a typekey identity?
