Christina Aguilera poses with her idol, blues/jazz legend Etta James. This photoshoot is scheduled to hit newsstands later this year in InStyle magazine. Etta called Christina "a great little singer [and] for a young girl like that to be singing real songs? I mean, she’s headed for the Pop market, but she can do everything. She’s like somebody that was born at another time. An old soul." Be sure to listen in this Friday, June 23 when Christina Aguilera drops by the Z Morning Zoo on Z100. I’ve enjoyed Etta James for many years now. Such a talented woman with an amazing voice. The very first time I heard her sing " At Last", I knew it was the song I would use at my wedding to dance with my husband. After 10 years of marriage, we still put her love songs CD in and steal a few moments in our busy lives to share a dance with Etta.
It interesting that in the beginning the media put down Chistina and built up Britney. Chirstina just kept following her own path. She is doing great. Yes Etta James is the Best. Love hearing "A Sunday kind of Love" on that tv commerical. She has an amazing voice.
Am I the only one who thought that Etta James was dead? At first I saw this pic and thought "Wow that’s a good photoshop job!"

It was just a matter of time when some beautiful woman-child would take over the pop charts and give Mariah a run for her money,Christina has come along way from getting compared to Britney (britney who?)Christina has a gifted voice that can sing anything,and like her Idol, the legendary Etta James,has the power to move people,its about time Etta James is know known as the greatest soul singer ever to live, No disrespect to Aretha ,but Etta was doing the ”chitlin circuit” a few years before Aretha came around the scene , Aretha was singing for tho Lord, just like Etta did years before . I think the world now is waiting to see Christina and Miss James sing and do a video for Christinas next video, that would be history in the making!!!I dont think to my knowledge Etta has ever did a music video,but long overdue ,,Etta reigns as supreme stylist in the same throne as DINAH WASHINGTON,BILLIE,SARAH,ELLA,LITTLE ESTHER
christina aguilera is the BEST thing that has ever happened to the woerl. just imagune life without her. a duet with etta, now christina! that would be awesome! love you x!
