World's Fastest Indian DVD Giveaway

World's Fastest Indian DVD Giveaway

Synopsis :: Anthony Hopkins stars as Burt Munro, a man who never let the dreams of youth fade.  In the late 1960’s, after a lifetime of perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle, Burt sets off from the bottom of the world, Invercargill, New Zealand, to clock his bike at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.  With all odds against him, Burt puts his irrepressible kiwi spirit to the test, braving the new world on a shoestring budget.  He makes fast friends of many he encounters along the way who find themselves swept up in his energy and singular determination.  Burt’s quest culminates in an unlikely conclusion and remains legendary within the motorcycle community to this day.

The World’s Fastest Indian may have bombed at the box office but this little gem of a movie is worth every penny if you’re thinking about picking up the DVD.  Anthony Hopkins, as always, gives another spellbinding performance.  How the man immerses himself so deeply into movie characters time and time again is astounding.  Although sometimes, actors can lose it as Hopkins did admit one time that he does get a little cuckoo sometimes playing psychopaths — Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon.  More movie stills in the gallery!  Cuckoo, cuckoo!

I thought he was great in Bram Stoker’s Dracula but I also liked him Howard’s End. Truly a great actor!

  • Jennifer L.

The Silence of the Lambs. Simply because his voice makes up some scary emotions! I just love his voice!Good luck everyone!

  • Ramiro

Would love to see the movie.

  • oriana

The Silence of the Lambs. he was really scary on that one, but my favourite was The Mask of Zorro, he is funny and in that movie you can notice that he is a versatile actor

  • Jen E

Saw this movie in theatres and it was really incredible. Definetly worth watching.

  • Ann

Proof. He’s not in it enough, but he’s brilliant with what few parts he gets, and it’s just an overall good movie.

  • Megs

Remains of the Day. I love him in this movie because I pretty much just love the movie, My husband’s thesis was on The Black Shirts in Britian and people mostly just look at us like we are complete idiots when we talk about British fascism because it seems to have been generally pushed out of memory. With this movie we can just look at them and say "Haven’t you seen Remains of the Day?" And then we look less like nerds and they look more like uncultured fools. Hahahaha

  • Mediterranean

He is one of THE most talented actor in the movie industry all around the world. He is an ACTOR with capital letters. He is so adorable and attractive and I also found him handsome.

  • Sylvia

Silence of the Lamb was my favorite movie that Sir Anthony Hopkins appeared in. I thought he did as a great psycho cannibal.

  • marilyn roark

Silence of The Lamb. That voice still sends chills up my spine!

  • amanda w.

PROOF – Because Jake Gyllenhaal is so damn cute in it.

  • Meaghan

Titus. Hopkins is one of the greatest living actors and no matter what movie he is in he is always amazing. He was born to play Titus no one could play him so proud yet still wonded and with the humor he brought to the movie. Even though he had a hard time making the movie it never shows in his preformance. I also believe he was amazing in Lion In Winter. If you can hold your own against Hepburn and O’Toole than you are a great in my book.

  • question

Question: Do you prononce his first name Anthony or Antony? I remember seeing some award show and Gweynth Paltrow was supposed to present an award to him and had to read this little speech beforehand, and I kid you not, she kept pronouncing his name Antony. So I was wondering the correct pronounciation.

  • Claire

Actually, this movie was my favorite Anthony Hopkins movie because Burt Monroe reminded me so much of my father. Burt could have really been my father’s double, thougtful, so nice it hurts and mechanically inclined. It was really a pleasure to watch.

  • Erin

Easily ‘Silence of The Lambs’. I mean Hannibal the Cannibal, it needs no explanation!

  • Pcrew

The Elephant Man. That movie still is in my memories after all these years. It is a performance that never leaves you.

  • fp

I’ve watched this movie and I just love it! It’ll be great if I can have the DVD as a collection! And I really love Anthony Hopkins. He is awesome!

  • rob

Hopkins greatest was Silence of the Lambs. he was truly evil in a granpa kind of way

  • Krystal

Meet Joe Black. I first saw the movie back in 1999, and I have to admit, I didn’t really care for it too much. But now, I’m much older, and I love it. I think he played his part so well, of course, in every movie that I’ve seen him in, he is amazing!

  • Stephanie

I would have to say that…Hearts in Atlantis was my favourite movie with him, if not that it would be Silence of the Lambs. Psycho’s are utter love, but Hearts in Atlantis I think I’ve seen that movie a total of….well I can’t really say since I use to watch it weekly cause I was in love with his character in it. I hated what happened to him in in.

  • allison

This movie, The World’s Fastest Indian, is by far my favorite of Hopkins. My dad and I spent a week at Bonneville to watch/live/learn Speedweek. We are now rebuilding a ’49 Cadillac to race ourselves…this movie embraced the spirit and determination it takes to race at Bonneville. That , and Hopkins portrayal of Munroe was witty, endearing and inspiring for all those who know what the Bonneville obsession is all about.

  • Betsy

I would have to say "Silence of the Lambs" because I can’t watch it at night unless I have all the lights on in the house….he is so creeeppy in that.

  • Rachael

The World’s fastest indian is my favorite. The character hopkins plays is true to the real person, full of passion, incredibly inventive and a true craftman with alot of heart. The journey this character goes on in this film is a touching one. Others around him are filled with enthusiasim for him, and in a sense make them rethink how they themselves approach life. In a nutshell, a very touching journey where you want the character to get to where he is going. Plus the documentary at the end of the DVD is amazing. My husband is a bike builder too and we were amazed how well the movie was adapted directly from documentary.

  • Katie

This is so hard! Anthony Hopkins has been so great in so many very different roles. My favourite role of his is different than my favourite movie. I think he was probably best as Hannibal, that’s pretty much a given. But my favourite movie of his would probably have to be Meet Joe Black. I know it’s not a popular choice, but there’s something about that movie that I just love. He’s perfect in it, and it’s a movie that I actually like Brad Pitt in. I loved the ending, and I thought that Anthony played it perfectly. But he does that in just about everything he does!!

  • Nicole Rankin

My favorite??? Them all!!!!! Even in the movies that were less than stellar, Anthony Hopkins still gave amazing performances. My personal favorite would have to be Remain’s of the day. Brilliant performance, moving story, who could ask for more???

  • Petros Five

My favourite was The Edge because he is the vulnerable , other than being Lecter.

  • Chuck Lawrence

well…i sell antique reproduction tin signs online and at the swapmeet. since this movie came out i have been selling a ton of my ‘indian motorcycle’ signs with everyone telling me about the movie and how i should check it out. through this i net a man, who works for suzuki, who has a team at work building a 125cc speed bike for bonneville to set the speeed record for a 125cc bike. their goal is 125mph on a 125cc bike, i plan on following his progress through his yahoo group. i feel his connection to this movie that has inspred him.

  • Lia

my favorite movie that he is in is probably The Human Stain….there is just something so interesting about this movie, he does a really good acting job, and he fits the profile so well…i really felt for his character in parts…he is such a cool older actor…o yes and The Human Stain is only made better because the younger version of him is played by Wentworth Miller…

  • Kim

Hearts in Atlantis. That movie was phenomenal. He didnt’ get enough credit for his amazing part in it… he was truly excellent in that role.
