Outkast in July 2006 Vibe magazine

The July 2006 issue of Vibe magazine sports two of the biggest rap stars in the music business: Andre 3000 and Big Boi of Outkast.

It’s nice to know that there are level-headed rappers out there like Outkast who can still make killer music without sacrificing it to crappy lyrics and content (including but not limited to heavy partying, degrading women, risky lifestyles, etc.). It’s a big generalization of course, but given the current spectrum and state of rap/hip-hop, I’d say that Outkast is up there in terms of creativity and style.

I’m really liking the outfits that were chosen for this photoshoot. Big Boi is actually wearing something that I normally wear out of the house during the winter (you can see it on p.102 scan).

Their next album, Idlewild, is coming out August 22, 2006 in conjunction with a movie of the same name.

So sick of comments that say Rap is degrading women. Like it is the only form of music that does.Heavy Metal is notorious for it (Warrant’s Cherry Pie) and a ton of other Heavy Metal.Rock N Roll is notorious for it too.Why all the concentration on rap as being Mysoginist?Men are dogs no matter what kind of music they sing.Oh and FIRST!!!!!!

i agree that hip hop can be so degrading, sure other types of music makes suggestions, but they aren’t making pimps sound cool or calling girls *******
