Heath Ledger is the Joker & Ryan Phillippe is Two Face?

The new Batman sequel is titled The Dark Knight and will star Heath Ledger as the Joker (Jack Nicholson played the Joker in Tim Burton‘s 1989 Batman).  I don’t really see it quite yet but Heath does have the ear-to-ear smile down pat, I’ll give him that.  Let it be known that I would be a terrible casting director but with an updated look, the new Joker could be so fresh, so fiend. (Get it?) Filming could start as early as January 2007…

Christian Bale will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Christopher Nolan is directing again. Word around town is that Ryan Phillippe will take on the role of Harvey Dent/Two Face.  Maybe this will be the big break his career needs…

Extremely bad choice!

heath’s a superb actor, you’ll eat your words when the movie comes out

I’m cautiously optimistic that Heath will do a good job playing the Joker. I don’t think he’s a bad actor I just think he’s chosen some really bad movie roles over the course of his career. I guess will see when the movie comes out.

Assuming that they’re going to change up the Joker to be less cartoony like they did with Scarecrow, I think that Heath might be just an extremely inspired bit of casting. I just really, really, really, really, really wanted that role for Paul Bettany.

That’s a lot of hotness in one film, Christian, Heath and possibley Ryan!? I dunno about the choice of Heath for the Joker and Ryan for Harvey Kent either….. lots of hotness though!

I trust Nolan to cast this movie right. Better than Singer did with Superman! Heath/Ryan and Christian Bale. That’s a lot of angst and intensity for one director to handle though.

Ryan is perfect for the role of someone who seems good and turns to evil. Too bad he was too old to play Darth Vader. I think his big break will be the Clint Eastwood movie that comes out in the fall. By the time this Batman is released he could be in a completely different place in his career.Jared I think you should post a shirtless montage of Bale, Ledger and Phillippe to commemorate this rumor.

Does it depress the hell out of anyone else to read these old comments about Heath?

So sadly ironic… #3 was right after all.

yeah it is sad to read everyone’s old comments…..I just smiled when I read #3′s comment…..you go Heath!! woo! he completely reinvented The Joker and now no one could ever redo that character cause he just did it spot on perfectly.
