OlderJake Gyllenhaal Tattoo
As reported over the weekend, here are the very first pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal’s arm tattoo. Fake or not, Jake got himself this brand spankin’ new tattoo nearly a week ago on his inner right forearm spelling out T-O-E-?-O (from what I can see) etched in an Old English variant font. Is it just me or does the tattoo seem smudged? Or unfinished? Above is Jake out and about in NYC this past Monday…

I don’t like it. His tattoo seems unfinished.
I don’t think it is a tattoo…I mean when have you ever seen a black unfinished tattoo.It is probably just a drawing made with a marker pen that will fade or wash away after a few days.Maybe he was trying to see what the tattoo would look like without getting one.
It’s obviously a fake one, it’s fading… He looks good in those pics.

I think it’s fake, I’ve watched enough Miami Ink to know that any respectable tattoo artist wouldn’t leave something like that unfinished or smudged. And getting a tattoo is perfectly fine but….I just don’t think Jake would get one. Would ruin that nice skin of his. :)
I don’t think it’s real either. My ex had seven tattoos, and they would have shaved more of Jake’s forearm to do this. This soon after the purported tattooing, the skin would still be red and slightly inflammed, too. Actually, I think it’s a doctored photo. It looks like it spells "TORSO" which is a gay skin mag; I think someone with Photoshop is having a bit of fun…

I really don’t know what I should think about this tattoo or whatever it is..perhaps he’s enlisting for something..but that’s not his style anyway..mabye it’s all faked of some very funny guys. Because Jake doesn’t look proud or something about his tattoo what you actually are if you get a new one.
It’s not a real tattoo. If it was the color would be more vibrant and the tattoo would look like it was slightly raised off the skin. As Katy points out, there might be some redness too, although that can go away after a day or so. The vibrancy and the raised appearance take about 5-7 days to go away, and you’d still be able to see that clearly if that was a real tattoo.

It’s not photoshoped b/c this fan saw him at Martha’s Vinyard during Jake’s dad poetry reading and mentioned about that "tattoo"
It’s probably just a ‘henna’ tattoo. Doesn’t hurt one bit – the ink is applied to the skin using a tube with a very small hole. No needles and punctures involved. It’s usually good for 2 weeks but it also depends on how frequent one bathes. Looks real until it starts to fade since the ink changes color the longer it stays on the skin – from deep black to a dark shade of brown. Henna tattoos are popular in Asia.
definitely a henna tatoo. jake was up here on martha’s vineyard and, according to a friend of mine, was at the annual agricultural fair (last week) in west tisbury where he and a pal got henna tatoos at oneof the booths.

The tatoo does not look very real to me either! In the picture it looks smudgy. Either way Jake is still looking good and I believe he is still dating Reece. Saw the couple shopping in Soho when I was in NYC last month! Lucky me :)
Would not surprise me if it is real. Guy is rich and good looking and probably needed to do something like getting a tatoo to entertain himself. He probably intentionally wanted it faded so people would think it does not look real, which is something I would not understand. Just my 2 cents.

Ever since I learned the correct pronunciation of Jake’s name (I believe I learned it on Jared, thx!) I say it the correct way in my head, if I’m at work, or at the top of my lungs when I’m at home.
