Hugh Jackman @ Good Morning America

Hugh Jackman @ Good Morning America

Hugh Jackman is charting a course from Aussie actor to movie mogul. Hugh, 38, was photographed on a boat in Sydney Harbor for the cover of the November/December 2006 issue of Men’s Vogue. Here are a few choice excerpts from the feature article:

On his mother leaving when he was 8: “I think it’s fair to say that my siblings all felt varying degrees of anger, far more than I did. I always had a connection with my mum. If there’s ever any problem between us, we talk about it, and I think I understood as I got older that she was just not … not well at the time. I remember art drama school, I was always a very happy-go-lucky kind of person, and drama school’s not the place to be happy-go-lucky. You’re meant to be tortured and smoking cigarettes and breaking down in classes. I thought: I’ve got to find some more demons here.”

On filming ‘The Fountain’: “There are times in that movie when I was crying like I don’t remember crying ever before.”

On watching a brain surgery together with the Fountain director Darren Aronofsky: “I don’t remember feeling a fear like that. I thought: I am so not all right with death.”

What he said to Clint Eastwood at a ShowWest convenstion in Las Vegas: “Hi Clint, I’m Hugh Jackman, nice to meet you. Listen, I did a movie called X-Men, I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but many people after seeing that film thought I looked like a younger version of you.”

Looking back on his meet-up with Clint: “I didn’t plan to say any of that. It just came out. And Clint just looked at me and said: ‘You’re holding up the line, kid.’”

Below is the video of Hugh Jackman‘s appearance on Good Morning America, where he eats talks about his new film The Prestige (out today) and chows down on his favorite food — meat pies! More pictures in the gallery…

# 6

Love Hugh!! Can’t get enough of that guy!!

# 7

Can that silly cow stop calling Christian BALE, Christian BATES!!

I know he isn’t an outgoing flambuoyant movie star, but at least respect him enough to get his name right

Great to see Hugh on the cover of Men’s Vogue. The GMA interview is also great to watch. Hugh tells the most interesting stories. That picture of him eating the pie, Perfect! The expression tells it all. However, that lady does keep referring to Christian as Christian Bates. I liked Christian’s “trick” the other day. “Don’t ask how it’s done, It will blow your mind!” It was meant to be a joke. Oh well, I guess she didn’t get it.

He looks way cooler as Wolverine- but he´s very nice.

yeah the christian BATES thing was getting on my nerves too. how can ppl not know his name? he’s freakin awesome.. even way before batman…

The pictures inside Men’s Vogue are FABULOUS!!! Hugh is so sexy and hot!

Christian Bale rocks my word. Where’s his magazine cover?

He should never wear sleeves…just little tight tank tops and even tighter jeans. Mmmm, hot.

yeah seriously, where’s the tomato sauce? best feeling in the world… out on a freezing day at the MCG watching your team… and then biting into a hot meat pie… yes. Love Hugh, absolutley gorgeous.

I love this actor and am so amazed at what a great man he is. His wife and I are the same age so I think his taste is unmatched. I have most of his movies but I haven’t been able to find “Paperback Hero” in a format I can veiw here in the USA.
Hugh Jackman is so versatile, in some pix he has looked like a young Peter O’Toole and I have seen him look like Clint Eastwood as well, (only more so wink, wink)

Hey Vikki, jo form Auz here.. I really hope you find Paperback Hero on DVD soon.. It’s one of my fav Hugh movies.. I love it and have it on DVD myself…

Abbey, you sound like a Melbourne girl as well.. Yes (freezing day at the MCG watching your team… and then biting into a hot meat pie…).. Isn’t it great..

You must have seen Hugh in Boy from OZ in Australia.. How good was it!!.. From what I’ve seen and heard, it seems it was 10 times better than the broadway production…
