Too bad that this film is being hailed by critics as another disaster from Warner Bros.

I like Rachel, she’s talented.
“Disaster” – I assume you are referring to the stories about the booing at Venice – Darren and Hugh have both said that the film also received standing ovations from 80% of the audience – maybe 20% booed and that’s what was picked up and reported. That being said, this is a Darren Aronofsky film, which means you either love it or hate it.

Brad Pitt was initially cast in this movie but pulled out because of creative differences with the director. Such that the budget of >100 with Brad plunged to about 30 million when he signed out.
Aronofsky has been quoted as saying they made the movie “leaner” but it’s the same story – he said one battle scene that they omitted alone cost about $10M! It was originally budgeted for $70M.
I will definitely see this film when it comes out! I love both Rachel and Hugh!

It was the studio that called it off. Your beloved Mr Pitt was very interested in doing it.
My only worry is Aranofsky has stuck his neck out too far on this thing. It might prove to be a little too weird for some.
I enjoyed it but it’s not easy to watch by any means.
Hugh really does look cool and rough with this haircut.
