DiCaprio Demands Scorsese Be Honored

Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese promoted their latest movie The Departed earlier this morning at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan. Leo said that it was a “joke” the veteran director still had not been awarded an Academy Award for a single film,

Leo added, “It would be wonderful if this film (The Departed) was rewarded, I think it very much deserves it. And I certainly think the man to my left (Scorsese) does. It’s quite long overdue, almost a practical joke at this point that that hasn’t happened.”

How come Leo’s head appears to have grown sideways?

  • matty

Just Leo and Marty promoting? Where is Matt Damon the co lead?O bviously totally overlooked, everyone is obsessed with Leo, like usually.

  • fan

Oh Leo, don’t you think awards are overrated? Guess not! LOL! Scorsese was awarded with a Golden Globe a few days ago and i think he is a lock for the Academy Award.

  • fan

Forgot to mention, he looks better on those photos than at the Globes!

Leo seem to gain a little bit of weight . He was so good in The Departed. Too bad, tough competition in BA category.

I totally agree with Leo about Scorsese. Scorsese is an excellent director and has directed many classic films. He deserves an Oscar this year for the Departed. The Departed is a thrill ride film with excellent performances from all the cast members. The film should be among the nominees for best picture.

It definitely should be Scorsese Year for Best Director and many of the cast members such as Leo, Matt, Mark and Jack should also be honored with nominations.

Just saw his movie Blood Diamond and hes so sexy…:)

  • Vera

    yeah you tell ‘em Leo!

  • Vera

why would they nominate Mark Wahlberg for best suppourting actor and not Matt Damon….crazy people.

  • Angelina

Good luck Leonardo at the Oscars! He was absolutely great in Blood Diamond and also very good in The Departed. Scorsese definitely should have had an Oscar by now. Yeah, how come Matt Damon isnt helping to promote the movie – I guess cause he’s sore about not getting an nominations himself.

Leo looked so handsome at the Golden Globes – very classic.

Maybe he has gained some weight but probably has he just quit smoking. I was watching Billy Bush inerview him at Access Hollywood or some such show and Billy asked him if his New Year’s resolution was to quit smoking and Leo said “I’ve already done that”!

  • gabriella

P.S. Mark Walhberg was amazing – that’s why he got nominated. Sorry not a Matt Damon fan, he’s booooooooring.

  • DAMN

I say: Matt isn’t promoting because he is shooting “The Bourne Ultimatum”. Got it?

BTW, the whole movie was marketed as Leo-Marty’s third film together. Marty talked about Leo’s performance all through the press junket and other interviews, but hardly ever talked about Matt (only when he was asked about Matt). In the Golden Globes Marky Mark’s name was listed ahead of Matt’s, even though Matt was one of the leads.

You just dislike Matt. That’s the truth. No need to spread a bad image of him. There are many like you who don’t like Matt. But that’s ok. It’s your opinion and you’ve the right to have one. There is no need to spread these kind of lies. Oh! Do you know Leo refused to do The Good Shepherd with Bob because he would be working on another movie at that time? Have you heard about scheduling conflict?

  • Yea!!!

Leo would have won globe hands down if he hadn’t been nominated twice – it split his vote.

  • jaromir

Yeah, I also am with the opinion that Scorsese should have already been awarded. The man’s movies are instant classics.

But and a huge BUT……To bad “The Departed” is a movie remake of a Hong Kong film from Andy Lau known as “Infernal Affairs.” Which IMO will hurt his chances

  • Vera

I don’t think Mark Wahlberg was amazing, he’s a good actor not a great one. Isn’t it kind of his M.O. too yell and act tough, not much of a stretch there, Matt’s the better actor, and of course I think Leo is the best!

  • Carlos

Leonardo DiCaprio can blow me. Growing Pains douche bag.

  • Michael

Look at the affection between Leo and Marty here. It’s genuine. Matt Damon is what he plays — a smug Yalie arriviste with no soul. Leo has flaws but there’s something soulful about him and Martin Scorsese, a Christian mystic, sees it.

With that extra flab in his face Leo is looking a lot like the young Orson Welles. Too bad Martin didn’t wait a little longer to make The Aviator, where Leo was constantly made-up to look like Orson.

  • krungkrung

is Leo n Bar still on?

  • Vera

so he’s a douchebag because he was on growing pains…jeez he was like 12, gotta start somewhere, at least he didn’t used to feel the vibration while modeling underwear…..

  • Vera

as far as It sounds he’s still with Bar, but who knows?
