Is the rift growing between Mandy Moore and Nicole Richie?
It certainly seems that way when Mandy lays the smackdown in the March 2007 Spring Shopping issue of Seventeen Magazine.
The 22-year-old actor/songstress is dating Nicole Richie‘s ex Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein and brings Nicole up in her yet-to-be-released Seventeen interview.
Mandy rips on Nicole‘s body image saying, “I’m not Nicole Richie. I’m not like a toothpick, and I will never be.” Them fighting words! The March 2007 issue of Seventeen hits newsstands Feb. 13 — just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton‘s romantic comedy Because I Said So hits theaters today.

But I’m much happier to present this type of person. I’m not Nicole Richie. I’m not like a toothpick, and I will never be. I’m just a regular-looking person — and that’s okay. I’s taken a while to come to grips with that since its’ definitely not the norm in my business. But, like, who cares? If anything, that makes someone more special — or at least that’s what I tell myself. [Laughs]

Well she looks okay – I still think she is thin. But better than most. She probably still has to diet and excersise to stay this size and keep her calories under 1000.

I think she has a nice body and her comment on Nicole doesn’t really sound like she was putting her down, she’s just saying she’s not as skinny as far as Hollywoods standards go. On another note, that photo shoot is awful…what the hell was Seventeen thinking?!

I think it is possibly that her statement was taken a bit far, but who knows. She is dating the girls ex. Perhaps she was just saying because Nicole is one of the smallest in HWood. So, perhaps that is all she was meaning. As a PR person, this wasn’t the best thing since this is the ex. But, ooops! :)

I don’t see where you would see a rift forming? Mandy simply states that she isn’t a toothpick. Nicole Richie is the most talked about celebrity when it comes to being too skinny. I think she just made a statement. Do we know when this interview was done? She hasn’t been dating that (disgusting) DJ AM guy that long. I don’t think she meant it as an insult. She doesn’t seem like that kind of girl. And as for the girl that commented this first… Mandy has had lasting relationships with Andy Roddick (Sigh) and Zach Braff (Sigh)… is two guys too many? It’s better than I can say for most of Hollywood.

I love Mandy. I’ve seen her movie. She sings very well too. She is beautiful too. I just hope the guy she is dating now will not dump her as he did Nicole.

Let’s face it – Hollyweird is fickle. Say what is popular now, change it later, no problem. Perhaps Mandy wasn’t slamming Nicole Richie, but it sure was a dig. How sad. There’s enough crap in the world without Hollyweird actresses creating drama in their own lives.

First of all, why exactly is Nicole Richie famous? I am so sick of no-talent socialites and all of the press that they receive. I like Mandy Moore and I also do not think she was trying to personally attack Nicole Ritchie, but the girl is the most sickly skinny, constantly photographed female in Hoolywood. She was just stating the obvious and the girl is obviously an extremely nasty looking bag of bones.
Ok..wait…since when has Nicole ever been “naturally skinny”? She wasn’t fat, but she was what Hollywood would consider “chubby” her entire adolesence. It was only last year, after a “Simple Life” got huge and the tabs were posting pics of her and calling her fat, that she all of a sudden dropped the weight and got waaaay too thin. AND, why are any of you defending her? She didn’t wake up one day and had miraculously lost weight. She dieted, did drugs, whatever…but I can tell you, from partying in some of the same circles, she didn’t just get a disease and suddenly become super skinny! I live and work in Hollyweird and the girl made herself super skinny. I can’t say whether or not she f’d up her system so bad that she now can’t gain weight, maybe true.
Mandy is seriously pretty. And, no, she isn’t considered “big” here in Hollywood. She’s considered normal. And, sad, by normal, she’s like 5’3, 120lbs…and fact is that isn’t middle America normal.
Whatever…I’m bored now.
Now this is a girl fight I would love to see on Pay-per-view. However, I wouldn’t take on Nicole, hunger makes you a fighter.

Whatever!!! she is young and single she can date who she wants and i dont think she’s ever said she was a goody goody. She’s just not a *****. She is a real woman and that is refreshing in hollywood or otherwise.
Single women can **** who they want, guys do it so who cares. Wear a condom and have fun ! I’m so sick of people like you judging women who dont get married at 18 and have 10 babies. She is 22 she shouldnt have to settle down right now. give her a break. I’m sure you wish you got laid as much as she did !
