Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood shimmers on the red carpet in a Badgley Mischka platinum gown at the Grammys on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old country singer picked up two Grammys this evening — Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Jesus, Take The Wheel.” She’s the first country artist since LeAnn Rimes to win Best New Arist and edged out Chris Brown, James Blunt, Imogen Heap, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Carrie performed a cover of Bob Wills‘ Western swing classic “New San Antonio Rose,” the classic Eagles track, “Desperado,” and a duet with Rascal Flatts of the Eagles “Life In The Fast Lane.” Watch all of the performances Carrie here!

Sorry all ya’ll country hicks, but Carrie is totally Dolly Parton Jr. Her fake , teased hair is too much for her pretty face and her wardrobe is SO gaudy…looks like she raided Dolly’s closet. She is so pretty & would be even more if she dressed more age appropraite. And don’t give me this “It was a stage costume” bullcrap. There are many outfits that would have looked so much better & still gone with the theme of the songs. HIRE A NEW STYLIST HONEY>>>>YOU LOOK %) YEARS OLD FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!!!

Yeah her San Antonio Rose was amazing… The control and power she had was superb… Really happy for her winning 2/2 grammys, following the footsteps of clarkson… Kinda prefer Carrie to Kelly now :) really sorry bout that… At least carrie acknowledges her american idol roots and thanked idol for her success but look at Clarkson, kelly’s just too messed up right now, going into drugs and stuff… Hope carrie does just as well with her second album… Already 5 million copies sold in the US alone for her! without carrie there wouldn’t be country
