OlderWall-to-wall stars at Clive Davis' Party
Celebrities came out in droves for music mogul Clive Davis‘ pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday night in Beverly Hills — Tyra Banks, Whitney Houston, Ellen DeGeneres with girlfriend Portia De Rossi, Ciara, Vanessa Minnillo with boyfriend Nick Lachey, and JC Chasez (below). Whitney is wearing Roberto Cavalli.
Justin Timberlake backed out of performing because he has the flu. I knew he didn’t look all there on Friday Night at the launch of “JT-TV.” Maybe he got the cooties from K-Fed when they hugged. Anything’s possible, right? I wonder if Justin‘s going to be a no show at the Grammys…
Clive found a quick replacement for Justin and tapped Motown music legend Smokey Robinson to perform “My Girl.” (Sidenote: Clive signed UK’s Leona Lewis in a $10 million contract.)
One member of the press shares her experiences from the red carpet:
The bigger the star, the less time they spend on the red carpet. It appeared that [Christina] Aguilera only stopped for still photographers and then just kept walking down the red carpet.
We were given warning, “Clive and Whitney are coming down. They’re not going to stop, so get your shot.”
And indeed, they didn’t. A reporter shouted, “Whitney, how are you doing?” She said, without missing a step, “Cavalli, Cavalli,” referring to her dress designer, who also attended the party.
Obviously not one of Tyra‘s best looks…

What is up with Whitney’s left-hand rock?
Is it me or is everyone looks like they have far too much make-up on (except Ellen and Portia)? Whitney, Vanessa, Ciara and Tyra all looked heavily made up. Besides the make-up everyone looks nice even Tyra. WTF?
All of these people are tired. None of them should be considered big stars. Mediocrity is so celebrated now that you could **** and be considered a “big star.”

am i the only one who thinks Vanessa is using Nick to get more famous? she hosts an mtv show and now she’s appearing at all these red carpet events. there’s something iffy about her.
i can’t wait for whitney to start singing again. she looks great. hopefully, she’ll have a great comeback. her talent is not to be wasted.

It took a team to pull Whitney together. Clive Davis is really trying to get a return on his record company’s investment. I wonder if the “voice” will ever be back. Such a shame. One of the greatest voices in the world and to squander it. Hopefully, she can make a return to the music scene.

No makeover in the world can help Whitney, she can look like a Billion Dollars, but her voice is still [cracked] up. and will never be the same.
God, I hate most of Tyra’s ensemble, but she looks great with a darker weave. I hope she keeps that look up (the hair, not the makeup, dress, and everything else) for the future.
Whitney looks like a diva. I know, “Whitney” and “diva” is repetition. She looks alright.
Cici looks HAWT. She’s seriously one of the fittest women in the business, and is fixing up to be Janet Jackson No. 2, as in she’s a mediocre vocalist but can dance her ass off. The weave looks flawless. Take notes, Beyonce. But if Ciara’s dating 50 Cent’s ass, I may have just lost a lot of my love for her.
Nick and Vanessa looks like…Nick and Vanessa. They’re adorable, even though Vanessa’s such an airhead at times.
Whithey is the greatest voice of all.

Thoughts and prayers that God keeps her strong and slays her demons permanently. She was blessed with incredible talent that the world hasn’t seen enough of. I miss her.

I think Tyra looks great. So many of them all look alike. I think her outfit is very original and quite different. She looks good esp. with the darker weave. Whitney looks good, but even from a picture on the web, she looks like she has a pound of make-up on. I wish her the best.

I think Vanessa is using Nick…..which is a shame b/c Nick seems like a sweetheart…and I think he fell hard for her.
But I don’t know Vanessa personally so that could all be bullshit….and she really does like him.
