Brad & Angelina: Baby on the Way

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are making the proper arrangements to adopt a child (probably a baby boy) from from Vietnam and find a sibling for Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and 10-month-old Shiloh. The superstar couple and their big news make their way onto the cover of this week’s Us Weekly and People Magazine.

Us Weekly first reported the news last month but the Associated Press didn’t officially report on Angelina filing adoption papers until last week.

Brad, Angelina, Zahara, and Shiloh were last spotted out on a Monday morning stroll in the French Quarter while Maddox was in school.

Since January, the Jolie-Pitt family has settled into their $3.5 million mansion in New Orleans, where Brad has been filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (kissing another woman!). But soon they’ll return home to Los Angeles, where Brad will wrap up his Button filming.

    This is the latest news:
KHARTOUM, Sudan – Gunmen have killed two African Union peacekeepers and critically wounded a third in Sudan’s western Darfur region, the AU said Wednesday.

The peacekeeping mission said it was “deeply concerned” the gunmen were believed to belong to the Sudan Liberation Army, the rebel faction that signed the Darfur Peace Agreement in May 2006.

That signatories of the accord would attack peacekeepers is a severe blow to international attempts to promote the peace process and persuade other warring factions to join it.

The gunmen abducted and killed the two peacekeepers while they were “on administrative duty” Monday in the Darfur town of Graida, the AU said. “A third soldier was critically injured,” the statement said, without giving details of how the attack was carried out.

“This deplorable and condemnable act was perpetrated by gunmen believed to be elements belonging to Sudan Liberation Movement or Army (Minni Minnawi faction), which is in full control of Graida,” the statement said, referring to the leader of the SLA who signed the peace agreement.

In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the African Union has its headquarters, an official said the slain peacekeepers were Nigerian.

“They were just shopping. They were unarmed and they were attacked by unidentified men,” said Mahmoud Kane, the head of the African Union’s Darfur Integrated Task Force.

The deaths brought to 11 the number of AU military personnel who have been killed on duty since the force was deployed to Darfur in 2004. Another peacekeeper is listed as missing.

With the 7,000-member AU force overwhelmed in a region the size of Texas, the U.N. Security Council last year recommended replacing it with more than 20,000 U.N. peacekeepers. The Sudanese government has rejected this, insisting the AU needs only technical assistance and equipment from the United Nations.

Also Monday, about 30 gunmen of groups that signed the May accord surrounded an office for the implementation of the peace agreement in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, and “threatened the officer-in-charge,” the AU said.

The African Union is “deeply concerned that these, and other recent incidents of this nature, occurred in El Fasher and Graida, both of them strongholds of the signatories.”

The AU said the slain peacekeepers’ vehicle was stolen. It called on the Minnawi faction to investigate the attack and ensure the vehicle is returned.

More than 200,000 people have died and more than 2.5 million people have been displaced in four years of fighting in Darfur. The conflict began when members of the region’s ethnic African tribes took up arms against what they saw as decades of neglect and discrimination by the Arab-dominated government in Khartoum.

The government is accused of unleashing a pro-government Arab militia that has committed many of the atrocities in the conflict.

Several rebel factions refused to sign the May accord, leading to an escalation in fighting.

Anon, NOOOOOOOOO, they’re not the only parents in the world, but they are, at least, trying to make a difference! what have you done to make a difference in a child and/or anyone’s life or a community???? if you don’t fit any of the described above, then do yourself a favor and keep quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this couple, but come on…poor little Shiloh is only 10 months…if they keep adding children, there is no possible way to give all those kids the necessary attention…they are saving a life, but I always think, at what expense? Just because you save a child from poverty and place them in wealth, does not always make it right…they need a connection to their parents and if they add 10 kids, you know they cannot possibly carry on full-time duties with their social schedules…they kids will be pushed off on nannies…I know I’m probably offending a lot of Brangelina lovers, but it’s my opinion and they are not perfect…I love them, but hey, give Sholih and Zee some time before adding on a new kid to the brood…

    From Lainey Says:

    The Cover Pitts

Us Weekly and People have both put the Family on the cover, pimping the Pitts who are always good to sell at newsstands… and why not? Look at them!

Nothing new in terms of content: it’s a boy, around 4 years old, they began the procedure months ago, could be a while yet before they bring him home – all things you already know. What’s new from my sources is that the couple is already prepared and bracing for backlash from critics over suspicion into the adoption process which is why they supposedly have given the green light to Vietnamese officials to reveal as much information as possible without compromising crucial information to encourage transparency and avoid another “Malawi”. Scrutiny into this aspect of the situation is not a concern.

However, what does irritate them are the questions about the timeline and why the adoption so soon after the Chosen One’s arrival. Rumour has it Brad sees this not as a challenge about their parenting but a challenge about race. I’m told he was on the phone some time late last week and he mentioned something to the effect of (my source paraphrased) – “we got pregnant with Shiloh less than a year after bringing Z home and I don’t recall anyone saying that was too short. So is it because it’s too short or is it because Shiloh is biological?”

Also – Maddox is rumoured to have traveled with Angelina last week with a quick stop in Vietnam. Have received multiple reports of sightings on a Cathay Pacific flight, Angie and Madd were in Business Class, very low key, Maddox was sleepy but apparently still full of personality and hugged his mom a lot, they were on their way to Hong Kong presumably connecting to LA back to NOLA.

    Will keep you posted.

I hope you don’t mind my writing three times, please everyone who has a soul, do not let HW entertainment and tabloid sensationalism blind your eyes to the serious issues around the world that are being raised. Tabloids use Angelina to make money by selling lies, open your eyes and ears to the issues, stop paying attention to irrevelant tabloid gossips, although I do support People mag. for trying to find out the facts before printing. Please help raise awareness for the women issues around the world like Angelina does. Many thanks to the fans who research and contribute to these efforts.

I do care because Jen do like children Says:

Jennifer chose her life no one make that choice for her, if she wanted Brad, she had to make comprise.
In relationships you don’t suppose to see yourself only, you have to see your husband or partner too. Jennifer is so selfish she refused to have a baby with Brad. Don’t blame Brad or Angie for that. It’s time to move on, let Jolie- Pitt family live their life.
