Jordin Sparks Does Diana Ross Proud

The most enjoyable American Idol performance of the night from the Top 12 was Jordan Sparks’ rendition of Diana Ross’s “If We Hold on Together.”

Jordin, 17, did an outstanding job and it was her best performance to date on American Idol! She may not have had the best vocal but she was still better than everyone else who isn’t named Melinda or Lakisha.

Here’s what the judges had to say about Jordin‘s performance:

  • Randy Jackson said, “Tonight with that, you just made it a three girl race (with Lakiska Jones and Melinda Doolittle).”
  • Paula Abdul said, “You drew me in right away.”
  • Simon Cowell said, “I thought it was a very, very good vocal.”

Chris Richardson, Blake Lewis, Phil Stacey = Best chances of winning.

LaKisha Jones = Best singer, But I’m sure America will not allow her to win this contest. I can’t see it happening.

Head&shoulders aka Melinda is pretty good, but she needs a neck.

um it took you long enough, jared. geez. i’m out of words for sanjaya. he’s a joke at this point, so whatever.

but, i wouldn’t be mad if gina, sanjaya, brandon or hayley went home. i thought chris richardson’s vocals were HORRIBLE, last night, and quite enjoyed blake. the 3 top ladies also sounded good.

No real stars. All are boring. Hopefully the guest stars will be fun.

I fell in love with Haley last night. Never even noticed her before (like Simon), but last night she was gorgeous and charming and fun.

Does Jordin remind anyone else of America Ferrera? Whenever I see her that’s what I think of. I don’t know if it’s her looks or her personality that makes me think that.

I thought Melinda (as usual) was the best last night, with Lakisha and Jordin tied for second. Haley looked beautiful…Wow! I didn’t know her name until yesterday night. hahh.

Sanjaya is laughable.
