Angelina: I'll Be a Stay-at-Home Mom

Angelina Jolie talked with Ho Chi Minh City’s Law newspaper:

“I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life. I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am very proud and happy to be their mother. Photographs and press coverage will make him upset. I’m very worried about that. I would like to say I’m sorry for bringing this into Pax‘s life. Everyone would agree that children need to have a family. I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?”

In my opinion, she’ll go the route of Meryl Streep.
She raised 4 children with her hubby and comes in to do a film, pick up her reward and then go back to her children, again.
It’s like she just swoops in, gets her award and goes home. Hahaha!

Of course, this year she just got nominated and didn’t pick up an award. Still she got an Oscar nom! She’s like Jack(always there for the party)!

Amy, name is not difficult getting adjust to, especially at early young age. He’s a kid and he will adjust to it faster than adults. YOU’D BE SURPRISED KIDS ARE A FASTER LEARNER THAN ADULTS. However, I do think it might be a bit be difficult getting used to the name chaging IF you’re already an adult since you’ve had since a kid. I think the hardest of getting used to is when PAX is in the US. He’s going to walk into a house with new faces and I am sure it’s going to surprise him and/or scare him. He has to learn getting used to his new family, food and cultures here in the US. And, he has to get used to being pounded by the paparrazi as well, which is another thing will somewhat going to scare him. THOSE ARE GOING TO BE THE HARDEST GETTING USED TO. But, I truly believe that Brad, Angie and the kids will help PAX get used to the family and our society here in the US. So, you shouldn’t focus on the name changing!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bored with playing mmm?

Here’s an article from the adoption agency in the U.S. that Angelina used. Take note that the director is congratuling the Jolie-Pitt family. They’re most likely handling Brad’s adoption portion in the states.

~~Angelina Jolie Chose Adoptions From The Heart to Handle Vietnamese Adoption

WYNNEWOOD, Pa., March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH), a licensed, non-profit adoption agency based in Wynnewood, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia, has announced that it worked with Angelina Jolie to facilitate the adoption of 3-year-old Pax Thien from the Tam Binh orphanage in Vietnam.

Jolie began the adoption process with AFTH, which handles both international and domestic adoptions, last summer. She was referred to the agency by Jane Aronson, MD, a New York-based pediatrician who specializes in adoption medicine and treated Jolie’s Ethiopian adopted daughter Zahara.

According to Heidi Gonzalez, AFTH’s Vietnam program adoption coordinator, Jolie followed the same procedures as all prospective adoptive parents who apply to its Vietnam program.

“Throughout Ms. Jolie’s adoption process, she received no preferential treatment from the Vietnamese government or Adoptions From The Heart, and, contrary to earlier reports, her application was not fast-tracked,” said Gonzalez.

Despite rumors that Jolie chose her child, she received a referral, standard protocol for any parent adopting from Vietnam. In late 2006, she was referred a child who had been legally determined to be available for adoption and who fit within the parameters for which Jolie had been approved to adopt. She accepted the first and only referral given to her.

In addition, Gonzalez confirmed a statement given by Nguyen Van Trung, director of Tam Binh Orphanage, that Jolie has neither made, nor promised to make, any financial contributions to his orphanage.

Besides Tam Binh, AFTH currently has a relationship with three other orphanages in Vietnam. AFTH facilitators work directly with the Department of International Adoption (DIA) in Hanoi, the Ministry of Justice and the orphanages to process the required paperwork and help facilitate adoptions through the Vietnamese government. In Vietnam, facilitators escort families to appointments with USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), the U.S. Embassy and required doctor visits. They arrange tours and generally accommodate families’ needs while they are in Vietnam.

AFTH had placed 250 Vietnamese children from 1995 to 2003, when the Vietnamese government closed the program. In April 2006, when Vietnam reopened adoption to the U.S., AFTH became licensed in Ho Chi Minh City to place children. Since then, 30 families have completed adoptions through AFTH; 22 others are in various stages of the process currently with referrals, and still more are on a waiting list.

Known for pioneering innovative services to improve the overall adoption process, AFTH was one of the first agencies on the East Coast more than a decade ago to begin offering the option of international adoption — well ahead of the rapidly growing trend. Today, the agency works with orphanages throughout Asia, Europe and South America.

“As we do with all of our clients, Adoptions From The Heart celebrates the miracle of adoption, and wishes the Jolie-Pitt family much joy,” said Gonzalez.

AFTH has 12 offices, and is licensed in PA, NJ, DE, VA, WV and NY, and approved to place children with families in CT. The agency has provided ongoing humanitarian aid to the Vietnam orphanages with which it works, including such current projects as helping to offset daily expenses at Tam Binh orphanage, and funding construction of a new emergency room at Go Vap orphanage, creation of a “milk room” that connects to the infant room at Thi Nghe orphanage, and the purchase of new furniture for the Picasso orphanage.

    Adoptions From The Heart~~

Again, today, I hear many heads exploding. Pop, pop, pop.

First of all… Angelina’s acting ability and screen presence cannot be denied. It is unique and timeless. Her taking time off may be a depressing thought to diehard fans and moviemakers, but it is something she wants to do and she should do it. I’m sure that people are scared that she will fall into the ‘blackout’ that aging actresses fall into, but really, who could ever fill her shoes? Cameron?Paris? Lindsey? Beyonce? Get the h*ll outta here! Anyone can take on the Jolie-speak(see Lindsey and Britney), but no one can take on the walk, that mysterious/bad ass glint in her eye, and the charge she brings to everything she does.

Also, you may want to think about this; if she ignores or denies what her gut is telling her, it will read onscreen a la Marilyn Monroe… that girl lost her sparkle way too soon deferring to other people’s expectations for her. I don’t want to see that happen to Angelina. Hell, we’ve lamented on Brad’s missing spark during the Dark Age; that spark is back like a mofo!

When Angelina comes back, maybe the moviemakers would have stepped up their game and provide material worthy of her; if she turns it down, some other actress could benefit. I would love it if Hollywood recognize the untapped resource of actresses, especially older actresses, but something has to happen to get the molasses out of the ‘braintrust’s’ @$$es!!!

An old article with great insights to Angie as an actress.

    Angelina Jolie’s Hollywood exile
The most ferocious performer on film today is proof there are still big stars — it’s the pictures that got smaller.

    June 11, 2005 |
One of my fondest memories of Pauline Kael was a weekend at her home in Great Barrington, Mass., just a few months before she died. Newsday critic Gene Seymour and I spent two nights catching her up on a fantastic new actress, Angelina Jolie, whom she had seen once in a Mike Newell comedy, “Pushing Tin” (1999), and been delighted with. Pauline didn’t care much for “Girl, Interrupted,” the film for which Jolie won the best supporting actress Oscar (neither did Seymour, who earned a hearty laugh by dubbing it “Snakepit 90210″), but she howled gleefully every time Jolie reduced one of the other actresses in the film to mere window dressing.

“Those poor actresses,” she said. “She’s absolutely fearless in front of a camera. This girl would scare the crap out of Jack Nicholson in ‘Cuckoo’s Nest.’” Kael’s favorite performance was Jolie as the doomed bisexual supermodel Gia in the HBO film. “My God,” she exclaimed, “this girl could play both the Brando and Maria Schneider roles in ‘Last Tango’! Where in the world did she come from?”

Yeah, remember last year she held an Oscar–for about 30 SECONDS before she gave it to whomever won it for best costume. That’s the last time she’ll ever hold that award unless she buys one at a pawn shop.

And remember, that was the Oscar show that Huvane no doubt called in every marker he had to get X on, whoring out her divorce to generate interest. There was all kinds of PR about the “excitement” about X’s “following” watching the show.

The ratings dipped that year, and were up this year. She hasn’t been asked back since.

The actress topped a poll of over 3,000 film fans, conducted by movie website, to the sexy accolade.

Kate Winslet came second with 18 per cent of the votes, while Reese Witherspoon – who has two children, daughter Ava and son Deacon – and Cate Blanchett came third and fourth respectively.

Pearl and Dean spokesperson Kathryn Jacob wasn’t surprised sultry Angelina – whose long-term partner is Brad Pitt – topped the poll.

Jacob said: “There are some beautiful Hollywood mums in this list but Angelina Jolie’s combination of stunning looks and column inches have earned her an army of film fans.”

Other sexy star mothers who made the top ten included Katie Holmes, who has a daughter Suri with husband Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, who is currently pregnant with her third child, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who has two children, daughter Apple and son Moses, with her Coldplay star husband Chris Martin.
