OlderBono is Now a Knight
Irish rock star Bono accepted an honorary knighthood from the Queen of England today under one condition – “don’t call me Sir”.
The 46-year-old U2 rocker, birth name Paul Hewson, was awarded the title for his services to the music industry and humanitarian work at a ceremony at British ambassador David Reddaway’s home in Dublin.

he deserves all the honors he gets. thanks for posting these. the one of him kissing ali’s head is particularly cute. and leave it to him to get a funky shot with his medal.

He’s not actually entitled to be called “Sir”, even though knighted, because he is not a British citizen.

He wears sunglasses because of the flashes of the cameras. The flashes effect his vision. I read it in a magazine awhile ago. You might think i’m bullshitting you, I think it was rolling stone if I remember correctly.
