…in these very first pictures from the set of their new Jon Favreau-directed film, Iron Man!
In the upcoming superhero flick, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark (Iron Man), played by Downey, 41, creates a life support suit to assist him after a life threatening accident. Stark ultimately decides to use its technology to fight evil and crime. Gwyn, 34, plays Virginia Potts (“Pepper”), Stark’s personal assistant who he later reveals his identity to.
Gwyn and Downey‘s passionate kiss was filmed on Thursday at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Terrence Howard also stars in this film as Stark’s confidant. Iron Man arrives in theaters on May 2nd, 2008.

What a piss poor choice for Iron Man. I know the character is supposed to be a recovering alcoholic, but he shouldn’t look like a hungover sissy.

I absolutely love RDJ and he deserves to be in this film and to be a box office star again. He is a brilliant actor & I cannot wait to see this film. He was amazing and hilarious in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and even gave me hope for Ally McBeal when he was in there millionth season.

I think both are good choices, RDJ can bring his own personal experiences into the role, and truely harness the essence of Tony Stark, as for Gwynneth it is not far out of her realm to play an assistant to a multi-billionaire, I loved her in Great Expectations, she will do well, but they will need lots of other models or super hotties hangin on stark to make it better, and it would be great to bring in the Black Widow into the film and also references to S.H.I.E.L.D,,,,people tend to forget,,tony is an ordinary guy,,only his invention gives him power,
Seems like just yesterday she was saying she hated big budgeted meaningless movies. She tried to convince Ben not to do that Armageddon movie. Guess even the great Gwyneth can lower her standards once it is she who has to pay some bills.

Although they have worked together twice before, think Katie Holmes would have been better suited for this, and she and Robert have some really wonderful chemistry together! Loved them in “The Singing Detective”. Michelle Monaghan (Harmony in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) would have been great, too!
Robert Downey Jr. is a very good actor but he is not Tony Stark/Iron Man. The closest actor I can think of who looks the most like Stark and can pull this off is Karl Urban (LOTR- The Two Towers, LOTR – Return of the King, The Bourne Supremacy, The Chronicles of Riddick). to be honest i am a hardcore ironman fan…..and it seems to me that this movie is looking like it haas a chance to be the best comicbook to movie convert!
1) roberT downey is the spitting image of tony starks….he has the same dam problems as him IRL…..he is a greeat actor(u can hate but every actor has had ****** roles….but not all have great performances…he does)
2) paltrow….is hottt(her face looks kinda retardedd, but when she bends over in shallow hal….HOLY SHNIKIES
3) THE DIRECTOR OF THIS MOVIE IS A REALLY COOL GUY and has lots of potential….he has been in the business for a long time but is about to be on a whole new level when this is done
4)…..TERRANCE HOWARD…is an amazing actor…quite possibly the next DENZEL
He will be alright as Tony….The real test is IRON MAN’s suit and POWER!!!
They better not screw that up…We want SPEED with SUPER POWER ACTION, to blow away any other MARVEL movie…remember when you first saw JURASIC PARK?…and you were like DAAAAMN them dino’s look real!!….LIKE THAT but IRON MAN style.
