OlderNelly Furtado Swoops In and Sweeps
Nelly Furtado kicks off Canada’s Juno Awards Show flying “Like a Bird” on Sunday night at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon.
The Canadian native swept all five categories she was nominated in including the Fan Choice Award, Best Pop Album, Best Artist, Best Single and Best Album. Whoa, Nelly!!!!!
“I just hand it to all the Canadian artists. This is for everybody – old, new, up and coming, the legends,” Nelly said during one of her acceptance speeches.
“I’m just happy to be here and humbled. Thank you Canada, I love you for accepting me. I love you!”

I’m sorry, but she just looks too old to be in her late twenties…
nelly did a good job last night. a lot of canadian artists forget about canada when they get internationally famous, and only come back to the junos when they need a career boost. nice to see nelly at the height of her fame thus far come back and do this for the canadian music industry. her music isn’t my cup of tea, but i think it shows a lot of class on her part.
I’m so embarassed that we couldn’t come up with a better name than ‘Credit Union Centre’. If it wasn’t that, it’d have something to do with a moose or a beaver or maple syrup.
we in canada only have 3 bands so she didn’t do THAT good, next year at the juno’s , I hear there will be onlt 2 bands including nellie. She hould do MUCH better. I mean , Muchmusic shows us that there are only 3 bands in canada this year.
the harderst year was 3 years when nickleback won all the awards. There was 5 bands in rotation that year. so they are better than nellie
