Lane Garrison: Don't Drink and Drive!

Former Prison Break star Lane Garrison filmed a public service announcement (PSA) against the dangers of drunk driving in a local park near his Los Angeles home last Saturday.

The drunk driving commercial is expected to be broadcast nationwide later this month.

The 26-year-old actor has been charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated for a car crash that killed 17-year-old student Vahagn Setian last December.

The troubled actor could face up to six years and eight months in prison if convicted.

Lane is due back in court on Wednesday, April 11.

It’s terrible that a 17 year old died because of his stupidity. How is mowing a kid down while driving drunk only a 6 year, 8 month sentence? I guess he will always be paying for what he did…I can’t even imagine the guilt you would feel after doing that.

  • kmillz

He looks cute in that sweater……sorry that this happened though

  • Nora

I think it’s really great that he’s becoming a spokesperson against drunk driving!

  • Sophie

I don’t. He killed someone. Nothing he does will ever be good enough.
You can become a spokesperson against drunk driving without killing another human.

  • ks

It’s tragic that someone has to die before a person realized that drinking and driving is something you just shouldn’t do. I truly hope he becomes a better person after this.

From a fake prison to a real prison… what a big jump… so sad…. for him and for the victim’s family….

  • daph

no excuse for what he did.. he will live with guilt all through his life.

but his picture when he was crying (after all this was news) would be a poster for drunk driving. that cry was the sadness of what he did, for that kid and the family and friends but also for his own life — what he has to live with forever..

i think nothing can be a stronger warning for anybody. “is it worth taking that chance??”

Those years seem a little short. Attractive people always get the easy way out.

I think he (and his lawyer) are anticipating a conviction, and so the PSA is way of showing the court that he feels remorse for his actions and is trying to better his life. In other words, they’re aiming for a lesser sentence. 1-2 years perhaps.

  • Janice

He didn’t “mow” anyone down. Some fans recognized him from the show and wanted to party with him. As much as I liked him on the show, it was really stupid to drink while driving those teens around. From what I’ve heard about him, I think his remorse is real and I hope he gets a reduced sentence…this is going to be with him for the rest of his life.

  • lock up

did he have a mug shot?

how does the police decide which cleb mug shots to release?

    n richie=yes
    paris hilton=no???

  • marymi

i wonder if he ever attened his movie’s premiere? anyway KUDOS to you JJ! sure we love wentworth miller, but you should’ve posted this about lane garrison when we fist heard about it! (last december) now add him, brandy, and others to the list of drunk driving casuties.

  • http://none Lyds

well he learned his lesson. we all know he killed someone but it was an accident due to his negligence. he’s also a human being just like everyone else.

he’s man enough to admit to his own mistakes. that is, it will take someone else’s life before you realize the damage.

remember guys, he’s not the only celeb who’s involved in this incident. i think there’s Brandy and Halle Berry. I just don’t know what’s the case behind Halle. i forgot it already. it’s been a while.

When someone becomes a spokesperson against drunk driving, they do it not to help the others but with a view to a better image during the trial and to reduced sentence in the end. I think how he looks in that sweater is totally irrelevant to the matter in hand.

  • ELLA PATRICK

I THINK THAT Y’ALL SHOULD SHUT UP BEING NASTY TOWARDS LANE BECAUSE HE DID WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS AND WILL DO, HE MADE A MISTAKE. AND IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. THE GUILT IS ENOUGH, AND ITS JUST SO BLATANT THAT HE IS SO SORRY FOR WHAT HE DID. LOVE YOU LANE, PRAYING FOR YOU ALWAYS. X X

  • ELLA PATRICK

AND HE DIDNT ACTUALLY KILL ANYBODY, DID HE? SOMEBODY DIED IN HIS PRESENCE BECAUSE OF A MISTAKE, AN ACCIDENT, BUT NOBODY FORCED ANYONE ELSE TO GET IN THE CAR DID THEY? HE DOESNT DESERVE ALL THIS CRAP PEOPLE ARE CHATTING ABOUT HIM. AND IF ONE INNOCENT LIFE IS ALLREADY WASTED, WHY WASTE ANOTHER ONE? PRAYING FOR YOU LANE, LOVE YOU X X

  • JASMIN

“BUT NOBODY FORCED ANYONE ELSE TO GET IN THE CAR DID THEY?”

You are absolutly right, man!! It was an accident.. I feel so sorry for Lane.. it was a mistake and he has to live with the guilt.. and I think THAT’S enough punishment!!

I’ll pray for Lane every single day and hope just the best for him!

STAY STRONG we all love you and stay behind you! =)
