Billie Offer (Drew Barrymore) is a young singer from Bakersfield with more heart than talent. Huck Cheever (Eric Bana) is a poker player whose emotions at the table often undermine his exceptional skill, especially when he is heads up with his father, poker legend L.C. Cheever (Robert Duvall). The one aptitude Billie and Huck seem to share is a knack for reading people—the difference is what they do with that gift. While Huck’s instincts enable him to take advantage of his opponents at the poker table and expertly avoid both emotional connections and long-term commitments in his personal life, Billie uses her intuition to see the emotional truth of those around her and sympathize with their pain. When these two meet, the real game begins. If Huck is going to win Billie’s heart, he must learn to play cards the way he has been living life and live his life the way he has been playing cards.

Poker is so not my thing – but the Bana definitely is – so of course I will see it! Maybe it turns out to be quite ok lol lol!
LOVE Eric Bana and I generally like Drew Barrymore, however, the two of them together in a romance seems rather odd. I think it’s because he seems so much more adult, and she she still seems like an ingenue even though she’s been in the business for a long time. I’m still going to watch the flick on DVD, but I’ll save my babysitter money for Spider-Man 3 and Transformers.
Looks like a dull movie.
But if Debra is in it, I think I’ll go see it.
But I don[‘t see her in the trailer or any of the pictures, so does she even have a part in this movie?
Looks like this is going to be a great movie , can’t wait to see it.
Once again I come to conclusion that movies, like poker, sometimes can result in unexpected combinations.
Despite the fact that I do love sexy Drew Barrymore, I would call it a solid piece of “mainstream storytelling”, nevertheless characters are entertaining…
