Nataie Portman for FINCA

Nataie Portman for FINCA

Camera shy Natalie Portman dodges paparazzi as she prepares to depart from LAX airport on Sunday in Los Angeles.

The A-list activist recently sat down with ABC political talk show This Week to talk about her new documentary, highlighting her mission to launch a microfinancing campaign with FINCA, the Foundation for International Community Assistance. Watch Nat‘s 7-minute interview video below!

FINCA provides financial services to the world’s lowest-income entrepreneurs so they can create jobs, build assets and improve their standard of living. We target those who have the least access to services such as loans, savings programs, and insurance.

It’s good that she engages herself for FINCA, but she goes on my nerves, especially her voice. She’s an average looking girl and a very overrated actress.

I am loving your website, too Jared. You are rarely mean and snarky and you have such a cool range of interesting stuff. Great videos, too. I adore Natalie Portman….she and Jake are just totally made for each other!!! Would someone plz tell them??? LOL!
Natalie is intelligent, speaks seven languages, graduated from Harvard and leads such an interesting life. There’s so much more to her than her acting. I like that about her. I like that she isn’t some mindless bimbo hanging out in clubs, starting silly “feuds” with other celebs and checking into rehab. Think about it. Natalie is only 25 going on 26 in June. She makes Paris Hilton and all those others look like asses.

She does not speak seven languages, more like four I think (I know some of her fansites lists six languages, but if I recall correctly she is not fluent in Japanese, for one) . Anyway, this was interesting. I haven’t heard about FINCA before, but I’ve heard of the man who got the Nobel Prize. Cool. I’ll keep my eyes open for more information. And yeah, great mix, Jared. :D

You know, the fact that someone her age is even thinking about helping others in a non-charitable way, just makes her that much more special! I mean it takes other Celebs to hit 40 yrs old before they use their status in a good way, and that’s usually because their careers have slumped and they need a “pick-me-up”…I agree with “anon”, because she WANTS to do more than just be an actress, and now she’s proving it!!! She’s played the cards that were dealt to her from a very young age, and she’s doing a hell of a job! Nice site Jared!

She’s so freakishly pretty! I’ve seen her IRL and she’s so so tiny- I was kinda shocked at jsut how small she is.

I loved her in Garden State, Closer, V for Vendetta and Cold Mountain (she made me cry). She’s such a good actress- the best of her generation.

I’ve seen her promote FINCA before and I think it’s great the she’s so dedicated to that organization. You know, she never gets the spotlight for her charity work- unlike other “stars” who get articles in People- and she doesn’t seem to want it. Good for her.

This is totally why Just Jared is my favorite site.

Of course she wants some kind of spotlight; otherwise she wouldn’t go on ABC talking about FINCA. I guess everyone just chooses different platforms to appear on. :)

I liked her head shaved, but her hair is growing out nicely.

She is cute, but I don’t get why people throw the word “stunning” in her direction, but whatever.

That’s nice what she is trying to do. I just hope it doesn’t become another trendy celebrity cause du jour.

it’s smart to let people being entrepreneurs, so they can make and manage money on their own, not just accepting money from charity and doing nothing.
    Good for Natalie and FINCA…

I do admire Natalie. She is a class act compared to the LL, PH, BS, NR, etc. I also like the fact that the charity she supports is different, helping others in needs aside from impoverish children. There are adults out there that have the drive and would like to improve their lot in life, but just haven’t been bless with the capital or the fortune to realize their dream and goals. Keep up the good work Natalie!!

    {Of course she wants some kind of spotlight; otherwise she wouldn’t go on ABC talking about FINCA.}

There’s a big difference between being in the spotlight and seeking it out for your own benefit. Natalie doesn’t use her guest appearances at functions and whatnot to promote her own career- she stays firmly on topic. Unlike pretty most celebrities. She also doesn’t simply do this when her career dies down like others (Gere, Stone, Jolie).

    Sandra Says:

You losers are pathetic! Who takes Paris seriously or someone like Lohan or Spears? They are utter trash. Natalie Portman is so inarticulate and so dumb that I cringe throughout her interviews. The poor girl has obviously been lucky, because she’s not intelligent, more like average, and not talented as an actress. She’s trying way too hard and it isn’t working. She should just get married and open a cookie shop- she seems the type.

I just wonder if anyone has today access to loans, savings programs, and insurance? Thanks, once I was involved into a mortgage mess, it was enough for me…

Yes. Forgot to mention Natalie does support FINCA. That is a charity for woman of abuse. She looks very adorable here too. Thanks for mentioning her again JJ and keep Natalie on your list. She is worth praising.
