Bana Fathers Heartfelt Flick
Eric Bana is joined by wife Rebecca Glesson at the Melbourne premiere of small-time Aussie flick Romulus, My Father at the Rivoli, Camberwell on Monday in Australia.
Said Bana at the film’s Castlemaine premiere of being able to relate to the story as he was also the son of immigrants: “Obviously wherever possible when you read a script you are hoping to form a bond with it, and something about that story makes you feel a bond with it as an actor. When I read this it was like a baseball bat over the head. It had a very strong presence with myself, not only as a Victorian but also as a son as a migrant. Not only are we representing the people who were real, we are representing someone’s story who is very much with us and was very much engaged with the production.”
Romulus, My Father opens in theaters in Australia on Thursday, May 31.
