The original American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson just announced via her official website that she’s canceling her summer tour!!!!!!!
“I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y’all. In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.
But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.

This follows her ongoing battles with her record company and management over artistic control of her music. She recently fired her longterm manager Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm.
From her former management: “Kelly Clarkson is an enormously talented artist and we are pleased to have served as her managers in her well-deserved rise to stardom. We have only the best wishes and hopes for her in the future.”
Kelly‘s album is still due out in stores June 26, 2007. Er, we hope.

Kelly is waaaaaay too big for her britches now! Just another case of an overblown ego. She’s deserving all she gets for her stuck up ways. Her new album sucks btw. Karma is a b!tch!

I am so upset! I had amazing seats for this show in Minnespolis, and I was so excited to see her again! I am so dissapointed! I love her.
And i have excellent tickets for the Vegas show too…waah!!

Her publicist has put out a statement quoting promoter Michael Rapino as saying, “Ticket sales have not been what we anticipated.” The statement says the Clarkson team is re-evaluating the size and scope of her show.
I liked Kelly’s old album but haven’t heard her new one. I hear it isn’t that good. The canceled tour sucks for her fans though. Hopefully she sorts her sh-t out fast and get back on track so the fans can see her on tour soon.
I never understood what all the hyp was about her.
omg i know a handfull of people who had to purchase airplane tickets to go see kelly!!! what do they do with their airplane tickets now? especially since airlines dont give refunds!! how fucked!
that sucks…i’m glad i didnt get tickets. the album is probably good musically and vocally. as radio friendly probably not…but all artists have their ups and downs.

I just heard her recently on a television show. Her voice was very scratchy and cracking. Her voice is normally very raspy, I know that but it sounded painfully so this time. Almost as if she was forcing to get it out. Maybe she is having problems with her voice?

Live Nation cancelled it because they misjudged her current popularity and booked too big of arenas and halls and they were selling around 30% of capacity. They are going to redesign her stage set and book smaller theaters and and give it another go later this year. Kelly should seriously use this time to lose weight and tone up because she is starting to look a lot like that other Kelly… Osbourne.
Kelly’s new cd sounds amazing.
“Maybe,” “Sober,” “Chivas,” “Irvine” – are some of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.
I really hope her real fans go out there on June 26th to support her. She is unbelievably talented. I wish her much success with this new album because it really is good.

I love Kelly. I am really sad for her. She is such a talented and adorable and sweet woman. I wish her the very best. From what I understand, Kelly wanted smaller more intimate venues for her tour but her management went ahead and scheduled her for arenas. Maybe that’s why she fired him! Hopefully, she will be able to tour later in the fall the way she originally wanted.
I think she has some ok songs, but her voice is not that good live. I saw her at Wango Tango in LA this summer and Fergie was way way better! Even the reviewers agreed.
She screams and has a one note voice.
I never got the hype over her.
Not to mention how “cute” she supposedly is. Blech she is way way fuglier than Fergie in person.
I saw both of them and Kelly is fug and fat. Fergie is pretty cute and sexy and a hot performer.
I’m so sad. Wish kelly the best.
