Matt Damon: Butch-er and More Intense!

Matt Damon: Butch-er and More Intense!

Matt Damon is Entertainment Weekly‘s cover boy this week.

Was it that vague when you signed on to do [Bourne Ultimatum]? I did the whole movie that way. In any given scene I didn’t know where I’d just come from or where I was going. Which, as an actor, you kind of need! And Paul’s only direction was ”Butch-er and more intense!” Finally I was like, ”If you give me the f—ing ‘butch-er and more intense’ note one more time, I’m gonna kick your ass!” It’s incredible that we’ve been able to pull the rabbit out of the hat three times.

Have you seen Ben Affleck’s new movie yet [Gone, Baby, Gone, which Affleck directed]? Yeah, it’s great! Unequivocally great.

Was it strange for you guys to be in Hawaii together this summer with your wives and kids? Was there ever a moment where you just laughed and said, Jesus, look at us?
Yeah, seeing the kids playing together, that was a trip.

What do you miss most about bachelorhood? It’s got to be the whores [laughs]. No, I mean my bachelorhood was kind of squandered making movies.

And in box office news… The Bourne Ultimatum pulled in a cool $70.2 million this weekend. Identity opened with $27.1 million and Supremacy opened at $52.5 million. Will the fourth Bourne film open even higher??

I SAW it this weekend!!!!Edge of your seat, pure adrenaline rush. Must see on a large screen. Julia Stiles surprised me. She is a very good actress. She had a scene with Matt where they had no lines. She just looked at him. You could actually watch her process the information. It was all in the eyes. I love Matt Damon. Bet he could have played that part in The Departed that Mark Wahlberg played.

Contgrats Matt, you are definitely the man of the summer.
I love how someone called Bourne Ultimatum the thinking man’s James Bond.
It was fantastic. I loved the location shots. I hope he gets some rest because he’s been really busy the past few years.

The movie made so much money but he said he hated doing it! But he said he loved doing The Good Shepherd but it was a dissapointment at the box office. Go figure.

I don’t think there will be another. I think the only movitvational factor to do another would be $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

love, love this movie. I love all the Bourne movies, but this is by far the best one. The scene with him and the reporter guy giving him the instructions were very good, the one with him inside the guys office stealing the documents and the Julia Stiles scene were very intense. I definitely recommend this movie as a must see, even if you are not a Matt Damon fan. The movie was all action from beginning to end, fast pace and no bull shi t!ng around with silly explanations.

I read somewhere that Matt’s Mother(?) was a therapist who specialized in teaching “non-violent solutions to confrontion” -no kidding! He said that because of this upbringing, he had to come to terms with movies he made that had a lot of violence. He somehow concluded that as long as it wasn’t a certain type of violence that promoted violence in others, then he could deal with that. I wonder what his Mother says>- lol!

They shouldn’t ruin the franchise by doing a 4th. I think they even risk losing money if fans feel they’re being cheated.

Although I love the Bourne series, I still favor Daniel Craig’s Bond.

Great movie, $10 well spent. Matt it’s great and HOT, so as Julia, I was hoping there will be a romance between these two in the movie, but it didn’t happend. This is a must see.

YOu cant blame him for hating making the movie–there was no script and it was being written as it was being shot and there were tons of things he said were really terrible that they just had to throw out and reshoot. I don’t know what it cost but it must have cost a ton of money to make–over 9 months too. He must be exhausted. I think the fact that given the way it was made and it turned out good should be to the credit of the director and writer.

I thought the movie was really over-rated. “A thinking man’s James Bond?” Seriously? The “thinking man” must not be thinking very hard.

Julia Stiles’ character annoyed me so much. I was definitely NOT a fan of all those long looks. I was just like “SAY something or go away!”

I looooooove Matt Damon and Julia Stiles has always been my favorite. She’s a really good actress and in a feel-good, not-hollywood way.
