OlderAustin Nichols Arrested for DUI
Sadly, yet another…
Austin Nichols, aka Jake Gyllenhaal‘s BFF, was arrested for a DUI in Jackson, Michigan at 2:30 a.m. this morning.
Seems like Austin, 27, poured his sorrows into alcohol as his short-lived HBO series John from Cincinnati recently got the ax. The surfer drama aired its season finale earlier this month and will not return for a second season.
Nichols was administered a breath test and hauled off to Jackson County Jail. BAC measurements were not released as of this morning.
Austin has been living in Clark Lake this summer, where he’s been staying with extended family members.

Is this going to become the typical “look of Hollywood remorse” mug shot? Perhaps he doesn’t realize Michigan will sentence him to more than a couple of hours jail time.

I know that Gyllenhaal is politically active. He shot a commercial for Rock the Vote, and along with his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, visited the University of Southern California to encourage students to vote during the 2004 U.S. Election.[54] He also campaigned for Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry.[55] He has said, however, that “it frustrates me when actors talk politics; I’m political and I make choices in my movies that I think are political. I try and say things with what I do. Rightly or wrongly, young actors have all the power.”[56]

In his spare time, Gyllenhaal enjoys woodworking and cooking.[63] He has said, “I am not a card-carrying Buddhist, but I do try to practice mindfulness” and it is his goal to meditate every day.[64][65

This hasn’t got a damned thing to do with Jake. Jake has a lot of friends.You could have said Austin Nichols, of HBO’s John From Cincinnati, to describe him, instead of Jake’s BFF.Austin has other actor friends besides Jake. You’ve proved a point tho. And that is that no one would care about Austin Nichols, or even about him being drunk if it weren’t for the fact that all you know about him is he is Jake’s friend. There is lots of other stuff to know about him as an individual, but no one probably ever will bcz everyone cares only about Jake. Sorry, Austin! Have another beer on me! LOL!

Ha, I just drove through Jackson yesterday, crazy. I tried watching that show but it seemed like it just tried too hard.
