OlderJustin Timberlake Snubs 'The Hills'
Justin Timberlake‘s hatred for reality TV became very apparent during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards when he repeatedly asked MTV to ditch reality TV and play more music videos.
The girls from The Hills — Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port — were supposed to present Timberlake with Male Artist of the Year but after Lauren announced Justin as the winner, things got a little strange.
A fourth female mysteriously showed up on stage to join The Hills girls to hand the moon man to Timbaland, who in turn gave it to Justin. Justin did not give eye contact or thank any of the presenters, as most winners do.
“Play more dayum videos. We don’t want to see the Simpsons on reality television,” said Justin, referring to sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson. “Play more videos.”
And then when accepting the award for the Quadruple Threat Award, Justin reiterated, “I want to challenge MTV to play more videos.”

I agree with him. Waaaaaaaaaay too many shows on MTV and not enough music videos. I hardly watch anymore because even on TRL you get like 10 to 15 seconds of a video and that’s it. So, more videos and less reality! We get enough of those damn shows on most of the other networks.

This awards show was a joke. It’s no longer about music, it’s about parties. MTV is becoming a joke. What the hell happened to the channel which took risks and was unique?

Well he’s right. Maybe he could’ve done a better way of showing it but it’s true. I don’t get why so many people care about what spoiled ******* do for their 16th birthday, or about the Hills girls. Their show is horrible and they shouldn’t be offended. They have no talent and are famous for nothing. I’m not sure why anyone would choose that lifestyle. Why are they at the VMAs? They have no musical talent either. It’s like at the MMAs. They don’t act.

I was just commenting earlier that all MTV plays these days is crappy reality televison, which is why I don’t watch that station anymore. They created MTV2 in an attempt to continue to live up to the title Music Television.
i agree with him.. but i LOVE the hills.. i say keep the hills and get rid of all the other shows!
i think he meant simpsons as in cartoon characters, not the simpson sisters who’ve been off mtv for awhile now. and he’s right, mtv has way to many (scripted) non-reality shows.
i’m glad he said it, someone had to. those girls are talentless jokes, and because of mtv there are many ‘celebrities’ out there just like them.
Justin is so full of himself like he think he is invincible or something. At least he didn’t try to diss britney misfortunes on live tv, like he usually does at his concerts.
I hate Timberlake. But i guess evryone is cashing in on each other, Timberlake collaborating in hip hop..he looked ridiculous trying to hang with 50 cent and Timbaland…

So he thinks making a big statement about MTV playing more videos?!?!? People have been saying that for years. Considering the stuff that passes for music that they actually do play on MTV, it doesn’t even matter if they play more videos because it’s all a bunch of dreck. Justin shouldn’t snub anyone considering his whole career is cribbed from tons of R&B performers and then executed in a considerably average way. He is lucky that he has reached the heights that he has being as average as he is. He is buzzard faced, arrogant loser who should learn to just be grateful for all his undeserved accolades.
I HATE TRL TOO, I WAS THERE AS AN AUDIENCE AND MTV MAKES/CUES AUDIENCE TO FAKE SCREAM OR THEY ARE NOT FILMED. PLUS THEY ONLY SEEK ATTRACTIVE YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE THIER FAKE AUDIENCE. ALL THAT UGLY SHRIEKING. MTV IS GETTING FAKE AND WORST. NO NEED FOR TALENTLESS KRISTIN CAVALLARIE, THE HILL HOS, TEILA TEQUILA, ETC. ETC.
