Jude Law @ Toronto Film Festival

Jude Law and HFPA guests attend the In Style Magazine and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Toronto International Film Festival Party held at the Windsor Arms Hotel on Tuesday in Toronto, Canada.

It was recently announced that Jude will play the title role in the 2009 revival of Shakespeare’s Hamlet at London’s West End.

Theatre artistic director, Michael Grandage, has said: “Jude was on the record as saying he wanted to tackle Hamlet at some point.

“He is a muscular, visceral actor who has a very direct connection with raw emotion.

“It will potentially be a very different take on a play we have seen a lot in recent years.”

iheartjude,
I don’t know…cold showers? I don’t think there’s much else you can do short of talking to someone professionally (seriously)…it might help.

Also, Iheartjude,
I didn’t intend to sound unsympathetic in my previous post, it’s just that I can relate a little bit…ya just have to get a grip.

iheartjude,i’m in the same situation as you..i can’t get enough of him..i live in the country that,i swear,Jude doesn’t even know..
sorry for my poor english

To all you girls who profess to walking around in a JUde-induced haze and seeing his face swim before your eyes – The only way to conquer it is to give in and after several years when it has just become a part of you you can smile and control it a bit but from my experience it never goes away
for shich I am truly grateful. My admiration for him has increased in
direct proportion to my love and therefore this is who i am now but I have
lerned to function this way and life is great.Everyone who knows me kows
that I will be in London in 2009 to see him do the role I/ve been waiting for the past few years. For those interested there will be a group of us who will be there at the same time, let me know here, on IMDB etc. you
will see notices.

sweetie don’t even worry about it. in the world we live in with wars, famine, diseases…here we all are mesmerized and addicted to a beautiful, talented and very sexy guy….what could be wrong with that? we’re not commiting crimes we’re expressing our utter and complete devotion to a living work of art….jude deserves our admiration…he’s a healthy hobby…..and it’s one that’s shared by millions of gals all over the world. he’s someone everybody would love to know..his beauty is a comfort as is his voice. we love to be part of his world. he’s like a ciber space friend…i would never feel guilty about time spent giving oneself happiness.

Jude Law may be British, but his fans extend far and wide.

The Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto turned into a fan club for the actor, who was in town to promote his new film, Sleuth, also starring Sir Michael Caine.

Banners and posters saying Jude Law were seen from early on in the afternoon, with fans having camped out on the streets since the early morning to ensure they got a glimpse of the Oscar nominee.

And there was chaos when the actor, who only jetted in on Monday, finally arrived, with people screaming and shouting his name, and the crowd surging forward.

People got so excited that the metal barriers, separating the stars from the pavements filled with people, were almost knocked down.

As Jude, who sported a black suit with skinny black tie, continued to sign autographs and take photos, security had to move quickly to keep the barriers up.

Earlier, the crowds were rather more sedate when co-star Michael and director Kenneth Branagh stepped out on the red carpet

you got it so right, dolores!

whoops…sorry for posting it twice, the first one was not appeared when I refreshed it..

sorry…

It’s all good, IheartJude. Thanks for the link and the article! I wish I was there.

iheartjude:

Thanks for the article.

Thanks for posting that article, iheartjude…I had not seen it.

If I undertand your question IHEart you want to know about the role of HANMLET that he will do in 2009. Most of us have run into it when studying
Shakespeare in school and I would guess it is probably the most famous role in all of Shakespeare, ONe that has been done at least once by every actor worth his salt and something JUde always wanted to do but I think kepat pushing off until he felt he was mature enough and ready.(NOt mature as in old but mature as in life’s experience, etc.) Two people whose opinion is worthwhile have given him the go-ahead actually, both David Lan and KEnneth Branagh. I too believe he is capable of more than he realizes and this will be a wonderful role for him.) Hamlet is a brilliant study of a man in crises who wants desperately to understand himself and be able to act appropriately on his life situation which requires action. It is just perfect for Jude. I once saw a production of HAMLET in Denmark in a park in Danish (of which I understood not one word) but knowing the story I was able to follow it very well and it was a most moving performance. (I also visited ELsinore castle and can see it in my mind still. If you want to know more (besides reading it and about it) rent the Olivier HAMLET or the Branagh one or both. Knowing the platy well will make our seeing it all the more enjoyable in 2009.

Thanks, Sandy. That was an excellent description of the role.

I think the Branagh version of Hamlet is fantastic. It’s great the he’ll be the one directing. I’ve also seen the one with Mel Gibson but found Branagh’s easier to understand (English is not my first language).

getting back to your addiction…i posted on another site that it’s an ailment called judeitis for which there is no known cure or antidote. it’s not life threatening but the only way to live with it is to be constantly fed doses and doses of jude law daily.

sherryl, I am sorry, I just can’t handle myself from copying and pasting your referred article…It is truly unimaginable to be in her position at that moment…I’d be so mesmerized to his lips …I’d be fainted!

“Next, at the Park Hyatt, I had to wait in a room-full of journalists for ages in order to speak with Jude Law, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh. These were “roundtable” interviews, which consists in a bunch of journalists sitting around an actual round table and trying to ask questions in the faux ambience of a dinner party. When Jude Law turned to face me, all of a sudden I could barely hear his answer to my question. His mouth just kept moving, and that’s the problem, really – he’s got mesmerizing lips. His whole face is pretty compelling, in fact. He was wearing a natty, grey (not sure it started off that way) waffle undershirt and took off his bright new Nikes under the table. ”

There’s just something about Jude’s lips (and eyes) that ..mm..how do I describe it..mm..it’s like..mm..gush…help me out…

Well, if you liked that article, here’s one from 2005. I remember reading it back a few months ago…
2005:http://movies.about.com/od/closer/a/closerjl112804.htm

As Kelly Ripa said, “It’s ALL good.”

Liz, I thought of that exact same article!!!!! I read it a while back, and when I saw the article I posted above, it made me think of it.
