Brad & Angelina's Tribeca Dinner
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally spend some alone time together, enjoying a date night out at high-end Asian eatery Megu in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood on Wednesday night.
Here is a snippet from Good Morning America interview, which airs on Friday. Best line: “Two wonderful words: Brad Pitt.”
Father by Day, Outlaw by Night
“[The kids are] the greatest thing I’ve ever taken on. It’s the most difficult, the most rewarding and the most fun,” he said. “But I think this is the, the greatest thing I’ve, I could possibly achieve and hats off to all the parents out there… They say the funniest things I’ve ever heard. They’re the funniest people I’ve ever met. … One of the things I’m most happy about for my kids is that they, they have a mother I think, because she is, she’s amazing.”
(Brad didn’t know he was real-life relatives with Jesse James during the time of the interview.)
“[Jesse James] is from the same area that, that I’m from,” Pitt said. “I was surprised how much that meant to me in the end, to do something that had a connection with home.”
GMA‘s Diane Sawyer asked Pitt about a time he said that he had grown up on those plains (in Missouri) with some unexplained sadness.
“I called it a congenital sadness. It’s something that I, that I feel in my grandparents, in my … in the people I’ve met, in a Southern way of life. It’s something pervasive, is an undercurrent that, that I think Christianity answers.”

Daniel Pearl’s Father Criticizes ‘A Mighty Heart’ for Comparing Son’s Abduction to Guantanamo Detentions
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
“A Mighty Heart,” the Angelina Jolie film that depicts the life and ultimate beheading of American reporter Daniel Pearl at the hands of Al Qaeda terrorists, has come under criticism from the murdered journalist’s father.
In an op-ed piece published in The Guardian newspaper on Wednesday, Judea Pearl takes the filmmakers to task for drawing a comparison between his son’s abduction and the detention of suspected Islamic militants at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo.
Pearl further criticizes director Michael Winterbottom for writing in the Washington Post that “A Mighty Heart” and his previous film, “The Road to Guantanamo,” were very similar.
“Drawing a comparison between Danny’s murder and the detention of suspects in Guantanamo is precisely what the killers wanted, as expressed in both their emails and the murder video,” Judea Pearl writes.
“Indeed, following an advance screening of “A Mighty Heart in Los Angeles,” a representative of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said: ‘We need to end the culture of bombs, torture, occupation, and violence. This is the message to take from the film.’”
“Danny’s tragedy demands an end to this logic,” continues Pearl, who is president of the Daniel Pearl Foundation and co-editor of “I am Jewish: Personal Reflections Inspired by the Last Words of Daniel Pearl.”
“There can be no comparison between those who take pride in the killing of an unarmed journalist and those who vow to end such acts. Moral relativism died with Daniel Pearl, in Karachi, on January 31 2002.”
