Marcia Cross is Splendid
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross gives her best Bree Van De Kamp in an Austrian TV commercial for a company called Splendid. Watch the video below — the speaking is hilarious!
FYI: Yes, the commercial is in German. That’s what they speak in Austria!

She is creepy, totally mommy dearest type.
That’s hilarious! I would so love to see this on American television.
Cool they should have Bree have a twin on DH sometime in the future.
Austrian? Isn’t that German?
austrians speak GERMAN, however the accent is what distinguishes both countries.
I’m from Austria and the clip is on every channel…
hahaha. love her.
It’s German without an Austrian Accent though….
I am German an haven’t seen the commercial on tv yet.
OMG, this is really funny….
Yes, you speak german in austria.
And her voice (and accentuation) is the same voice she has as Bree at DH.
Here is a link to a DH-scene in german:

Don’t really know/remember the voices of TH, MC and FH, but I think Eva Longorias real voice is pretty different to her “german” voice.
Haha:
“Can you keep a secret?”
“Of course I can!”
“Well, I can too!”
LOL #11.
german is such a funny language :P.
LOL folks, yes we do speak german here in austria. i guess european history isnt a great subject in american education !?
HAHAHA very cute and funny JJ :)
The ad is stupid :(( I like Marcia (and Bree) so much but this is just odd.
And Austrian – I witnessed an American asking a girl from London what language they speak in England :-P I don’t have to say he did not have much chances after that question…
marcia – premy-baby’s head. enormous!
It’s actually German withought an Austrian accent.
I love Bree, she’s so funny…
it’s really funny that people are suprised that austrian people speak german…
I know austria isn’t a big country and it’s not one of the big players in world politics but I would have thought that some americans would still know austria… cause the country used to be quite powerful during Habsburg monarchie and it also played a major role during the first and second world war.
So I am quite suprised that american studens haven’t heard of austria before and don’t know which language is spoken there…
…and of course: Austria is the country where “The Sound Of Music” takes place ;-)
Hello————we´re talking about the US fol here- they don´t care for the rest of the world.
die kennen doch ausser schwarzenegger niemanden :-)
thats the first time i read something about my country, austria, on this page – really nice.
i love this spot. it’s really nice that marcia cross makes commercial for the austrian “spar” market. schwarzennegger is an austrian too, so that should be knwon in the US. :P
greez from austria
J
i love this comercial–first time i saw it i cracked totally up lol
( i am from austria )
and yes we do speak german here and this isn’t an austrian accent
I bet some people over there thought they speak English in Austria because…well, you know, like Arnie is speaking English in the US of A, too!
hey austrian..
so many fellow-austrians around… I can’t believe it.. ;-)
oh… and I haven’t seen this comercial before I have to admit… I guess I just don’t watch enough tv…
“Hello Darling!”
“Hello”
“Nice that you’re here, come in!”
“These tea cups are wonderful, and so clean – almost like mine!”
“That’s very easy.”
“And these napkins – perfectly white. And this table-cloth – simply perfect. How are you doing this?”
“Can you keep a secret?”
“Of course I can!”
“Well, me too!”
