Colin Farrell for UNICEF

Colin Farrell speaks out for UNICEF, along with Stephen Rea, Cathy Kelly, Andrea Corr, Marian Finucane and Ryan Tubridy. Watch the video below!

Colin, 31, also recently spoke out about his special-needs 4-year-old son James.

James was born with a rare form of cerebral palsy called Angelman Syndrome (AS), “a rare neuro-genetic disorder named after a British paediatrician, Dr. Harry Angelman, who first described the syndrome in 1965. AS is characterized by intellectual and developmental delay, speech impediment, sleep disturbance, unstable jerky gait, seizures, hand flapping movements, frequent laughter/smiling and usually a happy demeanor.”

Despite the heartbreak the syndrome has caused, Colin said that he is “incredibly blessed to have him in my life.”

And shame over the Jolie-Pitt. She needs only perfect Kids or perfect man, shame us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They insisted on test for Pax!

The child should be healthy. Shame on you Angelina!!!

  • jocasta666

    Shame?
    Explain please.
No fight intended, but Angelina took a malnourished baby (Zahara) into her home and heart. Zahara, if you’ll look at the photos and read the history, was dying when Angelina got her. Of starvation, and other things…you could see she was suffering when she was first photoed with Angelina. I was stunned when I first saw this.

Now look at Z…she’s been photographed *feeding* Pax! She’s strong, and feisty.

Angelina shames *me* a non-mother, for never having considered adopting until now.

Shame on anyone who criticizes what others do for good reasons.
Let the shoe fit where it might.
    (Even if it’s mine.)

Applause for all of those who’ve helped/are helping/will help this org with their mission.
Kudos to the stars, ‘well done’ to the kids in the commercial, and outstanding ovation to the ones who can and do give to help others they may never meet.

I had hoped this org could make a difference, and they did! Yay!

FORMER Hollywood bad boy Colin Farrell has revealed for the first time that his his son is disabled.

The Miami Vice actor says that his four-year-old boy suffers from a rare form of cerebral palsy and has only just started to walk.

The Irish actor explains youngster James was born with Angelman Syndrome, a genetic disorder which affects one in 12,000 people and leaves its victims barely able to talk.

The 31-year-old says “With my son the only time I’m reminded that there is something different about him – that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal – is when I see him with other four-year-olds. Then I go, ‘Oh yeah’, and it comes back to me.

“But from day one I felt that he’s the way he’s meant to be.”

James took his first steps just six weeks ago, leaving his father bursting with pride.

“He worked his a**e off for four years. When he took the first steps it was incredibly emotional, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”

Colin says he feels “incredibly blessed to have him in my life” and said that he had shown “amazing courage”.

The one-time party animal has had a rough few years. His film career has cooled, he suffered from exhaustion, and was hospitalised after an alleged drugs overdose in 2005.

But Colin, l – who has joint custody of James with his model mother Kim Bordenave – wants to make sure his son achieves “his individual potential”.

The S.W.A.T star says: “I have never thought of my son as being someone with a disability. It goes back to special needs and what is a disability and what isn’t”.

Colin, says that James has “enriched” his life “incredibly” and is an “incredibly happy boy”.

Ironically, Colin proudly led the Irish team to the Special Olympics before his son was born.

“I experienced the overwhelming effect of being around those athletes pretty much just before my son was born with special needs,” he reveals. “It’s mad the way the world works. It’s bizarre.”

for colin farrell:he changed a lot recently.that’s very good for him.
he carries a lot of responsability for his son because he mentioned he was very drunk when james was conceptioned.he gave him the worst energy possible.so now he has to face the consequences.with much love and support he might be cured.
very touching clip from unicef.to change the situation of all this kids is to change ourselves, to give love without any strings or expect some rewards.
