Great casting. Everyone of them are fine actors and it is about time someone did the Harvey Milk story. He was a real trailblazer. The shooting was a profound tragedy for everyone involved, even the killer, Dan White. His meltdown was sad.
Just watch. The “James Franco is gay rumors!” and the “Emile Hirsh is Gay!” rumors will start up any moment! I am so tired of the rumor mongerers trying to get a fix on who is gay and who isn’t. It is a personal, private matter and it doesn’t concern the public. All we are owed is a good perfromance. Period.

I think these guys are doing this bcz they want to work with Sean Penn. If U R a very serious actor, working with someone like Sean Penn or Robert DeNiro or Meryl Streep is a gift. It’s a real opportunity. Just like it would be to work with Martin Scorcese.

dang I wanted Matt Damon to played Dan White – he looked so much like him.

yay James Franco news!

I agree with the person above. they’re probably going to try and say that he is gay after making the movie but whatever. He is gorgeous and extremely talented. cant wait for the movie.

yeah!!!

Just wondering.. why put American Gangster star? He had a very supporting role. It should say No Country for Old Men star, it’s newer, and he has a bigger role.

James Franco becomes Gay ?? Hmm, okay … that’s interesting.

I love Gus! Really great casting!!!

I know the rumors will begin re:Mr.Franco and I am NOT looking forward to hearing it. Women LOVE James and I personally think he should have stayed far away from this film. Maybe he DID just want the chance to work with Penn and this was it. I just hope the viewing audience doesn’t have to sit thru him in any ‘compromising positions’. Better his character’s private life be REFERRED to than shown. (JMHO)

Emile Hirsch is one of the most amazing actors on the planet! He’s so yummy, I could just eat him up! That sexy little smile and that cute butt!!Who could ask for more!!

Harvey Milk was not the first openly gay elected official in the country as your article states. He was the first openly gay elected man. Preceding him were both Elaine Noble (Mass. State Rep 1974) and Kathy Kozachenko (Ann Arbor City Council 1974),

nnooooooooooo tu eres demasiado lindo para meterte en eso , emile hirsh te amo ,… jeans franco eres orrendo no metas a mi amor en eso ., chaoo

Ugh. Gay rumours about James will start soon.

I don’t care though. He’s an amazing actor, he’s gorgeous. It’s an opportunity to work with Sean Penn, I understand why he took it. I’m sure he’ll be great.

Dianna Trent

Geez. It’s a movie about a famous gay man. If you don’t like the subject and can’t handle it then don’t go see it. These are fine actors who don’t give a **** what you think about your definition of a compromising position.
