Tom Cruise Scientology Video Outbreak
Here’s a peek into Tom Cruise and his beliefs in Scientology via Gawker. You must watch the video below–it’s definitely making the rounds in the blogosphere.
Basically, Tom goes off on how dedicated he is to being a Scientologist and how he will “not hesitate to put [his] ethics in someone else!” Here are some of the highlights via Us Weekly:
“I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it’s something that you have to earn because a Scientologist does… has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions. Being a Scientologist, you look at someone and know absolutely that you can help them.
“Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident… you know you have to do something about it because you know you’re the only one that can really help.
“But that’s what drives me… I know that we have an opportunity to really help… effectively change people’s lives and I am dedicated to that. I am absolutely, uncompromisingly dedicated to that.
“We have a responsibility.
“We are the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions… we can rehabilitate criminals.
“…We can bring peace and unite cultures…
“Traveling the world and meeting the people that I’ve met, talking with these leaders in various fields, they want help and they are depending on people who know and who can be effective and do it and that’s us. That is our responsibility to do that.
“It is the time now. Now is the time… Being a Scientologist, people are turning to you, so you better know it, you better know it and if you don’t, go and learn it, but don’t pretend you know it. It’s like we’re here to help.
“If you’re a Scientologist, you see life, you see things the way they are, in all its glory, all of its complexity and the more you know as a Scientologist, you don’t become overwhelmed by it.
“Look, I wish the world was a different place. I’d like to go on vacation and go and romp and play and just do that, you know what I mean. That’s what I want it to be. There’s times I’d like to do that, but I can’t because I know I have to do something about it.
“I have to do it because I can’t live with myself if I don’t, and that really is it.
“So it’s our responsibility to educate, create the new reality. We have that responsibility to say, ‘Hey, this is the way it should be done because we do it this way and people are actually getting better.’
“And let’s get it done. Let’s really get it done and have enough love and compassion and toughness that you’re really going to do it and do it right.
“I have to tell you something – it is rough and tumble, and it’s wild and wooly, and it’s a blast, it’s a blast, it really is fun because, dammit, there is nothing better than the going out there and fighting the fight and suddenly you see things are better.
“I want to know that I’ve done everything I could everyday, and I think about those people out there who are depending on us. I think about that and it does make me feel that we’ve got more work. I need more help, get those spectators either in the playing field or out of the arena. Really, that’s how I feel about it.
“I do what I can, and I do it the way I do everything. [laughs] There’s nothing part-of-the way for me.”

do people forget that scientology was a product of a science fiction writer?
Before you jump all over him, his written comments sound like what every good believes about their faith, that it enhances their life and has the ability to do the same for others. It always sounds so rational… on paper.
he’s so weird…
he sounds so much like a sicko now…
alien know it all, he ruins women self esteem and turns them into plastic surgery bone thin faux barbies.I despise him -the ron.L hubbard wanna be leader.
tom alien cult gnome cruise is misogynistic
He needs to just stop. The majority of the public thinks he’s crazy, overexposed and are tired of seeing him spout his beliefs.

he is a freakin’ lunatic AND I’m not sure he actually said anything
I so very seldom post or even lurk in a Tom Cruise thread, but this piqued my interest … and now I really am sure in my mind that the man is nuts.
“We are the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions… we can rehabilitate criminals.
Holy moley! As the poster layton said, do people actually forget that this so-called religion was started by a science fiction writer? Heck, might as well resurrect Gene Roddenberry in people’s minds and use his scripts and articles to start a new religion based on Star Trek!
So he’s the only one that can help people? He can rehabilitate criminals? I don’t see his butt in prisions trying to rehabilitate anyone. I mean, he does say ‘ME’ all the time, doesn’t he?
This man’s brain is totally taken over by out of space creatures. Gee, maybe he’s got an alien inside and we just don’t know it.
I have a certain image (rightly or wrongly..?) about Scientology, after reading Tom Cruise’s comments I have to say I really understood what he was trying to get across – the thing is every since he became more vocal about Scientology his popularity went down.
I have read Huber’s book and while I find the material fascinating I feel much of it needs to be updated – times have changed. In short Scientology can offer much but not until they have found a firm ground.
I agree with the poster who says that many of his beliefs sound rational on paper. However, religions/belief systems don’t exist only on paper – in order to be effective, they have to be able to function in the real world. And if you speak with such an intensity that must people think you are crazy (seriously! look at that man’s eyes!) and you make this supposedly precious life-changing knowledge available only to those who can pay out the nose for it, THAT, my friends, it is where it becomes dangerous.
how dare he want to help people? what is wrong with him? living the best life he can. he must be sick. it’s like get over it already.
like was said above, don’t people feel this way about their religions? he should be passionate about something he believes in.
Has anyone noticed that he does not actually SAY anything when he talks. It is a bunch of “word salad” junk. Geez, he is just rambling about nothing. Stupid video.
If being a scientologist means that you ramble on about nothing in particular then I know a few of them. Although most of their ramblings are prompted by being high. Huh?
I kept waiting for him to explain scientology more instead of saying the only thing they want is to do good. Most of the time I was just shaking my head trying to understand. But then I realized he really wasn’t saying anything. Loony Tom. That’s my new name for him.
What are his motives? I dont see the point behind him doing this.
He keeps talking about how people are “depending” on them…but I’m pretty sure no one is.

I agree with you totally CC. I listened and listened and then I read the printed version. What did he actually SAY? Nothing. You gotta do it, you gotta get out there and do it. Do WHAT? He said nothing but egomaniac rambling hot air. If it truly is all up to him we are in big trouble because he is a lunatic with an ego that has gotten totally out of control. Even his eyes look scary now. Too bad because I quite liked him when he was younger. Up to his Jerry MacGuire movie I enjoyed his films but I can’t watch him anymore. In anything. He can’t disappear into a character anymore, which is essential in acting. His own neurotic personality just overwhelms anything he does and all I can see is him jumping on couches like a two year old with a sugar rush.
What ever happened to freedom of religion?

Scientology is NOT a religion. It’s a CULT!!!
He’s a ****** wanker who needs to shut his stupid alien piehole.
I applaud people that want to help others, we have become so selfish, that we feel is weird for this men to help others. There is nothing weird or freak about a person who has believes and who is not causing harm to others, but instead is willing to help others.
he’s certifiable and seems to think he’s some sort of god. this fake “religion” aka “money making machine” sure must feed his overinflated ego very nicely. the scary thing is that this video is not a joke. it’s a video created by scientologists regarding this award that Tom won for being a good little scietobot. did you all catch the Mission Impossible music at the end? nice touch….wtf? what a crock of sh*t.
I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR HIM.
