Can anyone tell me what’s the deal with that Daniel Day-Lewis?! He already won, but why prey on the dead?! Dedicated to HL?! I can understand that if he is a close friend, relative or even if HL is also in the race… but nonono, nothing even remotely close, I just don’t get it, maybe there is something I am mississing?!

When Daniel Day Lewis was nominated for an Oscar for “Gangs of NY” he was a lock to win, then Oscar night came and Adrian Brody won in an upset (and rightfully so in my opinion). I believe Day Lewis wants to eliminate the possibility of an upset again by going all out to look the ultimate most caring guy and garner attention with all of these Heath Ledger tributes, which always helps with Oscar voters–lots of positive attention. It’s working too. Everywhere I go on the internet everyone is saying “Daniel Day Lewis is such a class act and so brave going out of his way to memorialize the memory of Heath.”

Thanks mickey, #11… you are right because I saw that he was mentioned on the radio, on news, on prints.. meanwhile, I think HL’s death is sad and all.. and I don’t have problem with people talking about him… like how Batman’s director talks about his memory of Heath.. I mean that guy worked with Heath for months.. of-course he would have something to say. But here comes this Daniel Day Lewis, who had never even worked with him… something just doesn’t sit right… shouldn’t he dedicate his award to people who have actually supported him?!

I don’t know why people have such a problem with DDL’s dedication of his SAG to Heath… it doesn’t matter if they worked together or not, DDL was merely paying tribute to a fellow actor, someone whose talent he greatly admired and whose death he found tragic. Why all the fuss? I thought it was a lovely gesture. Daniel has always struck me as the least likely actor to try and pull Oscar votes, EVER. Seriously.
