Spice Girls Tour CANCELED

Spice Girls Tour CANCELED

The Spice Girls just announced that they’re cutting their world tour short!

They have dropped Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina, reportedly because of poor ticket sales.

Here’s their official statement: “Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria. It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and the US, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US along with the touring logistics for such a massive production it was not possible to fit everything in. As the girls return to normal family life and the kids go back to school they are reviewing all the options, who knows what the future might bring!”

The girls said: “We’ve had such an amazing time over the last 3 months. It’s been incredible being back together and seeing our fans again. We want to thank everyone who came to see us. It was all so mad the first time round, so we’ve really been able to appreciate it properly this time. There have been so many highlights and good times that we know it will be hard to be apart after Toronto. Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next.”

Thanks, Doobybrain!

I dont really think its because of poor sales. Their tickets were snapped up so fast. They hadded many shows in UK and USA. I believe what they say about having other commitments and family life, they cant be on the road so long. Maybe they’ll do one for the other countries later. http://arabaquarius.blogspot.com/

Umm, not really. They didn’t cancel anything, they just are not adding anymore.. the original tour was only supposed to be 11 shows.. that has changed into 30 something…

They never confirmed they were doing the other countries, they suggested they might do it.

Actually South Africa (and China I think) were part of the 11 original dates. They were supposed to be rescheduled. Even though I really feel bad for the fans who wont be able to see them, it’s their decision and I’m sure they have a good one.
I dont think ‘poor tickets sales’ is the reason either.
I got to see them last night it was absolutely amazing.

VERY SAD.

Sweet!!! I got to see their first show!

Haha! it’d be so funny if they did ANOTHER reunion tour when they’re like 40 or something.

connect the dots; leads to britney spears; spice girls once as hot as britney—-FADS; spice girls/britney spears had teenage fans, fans grew up, and new batch of teens have new teen idols. spice girls taking being rich has-beens a lot better than rich has-been britney.

SPICE WHORES!

Liers. So disrespectful to their fans. Thats was just a reunion to get easy money.

SPICE *******.

Jared, this has NOTHING to do with ticket sales. The girls are busy and they are tired. The have children to look after (excl. Sporty). They want to move on in their lives. I’m sure they’re having a ball, but they can’t live in the past forever.

YES, BUT WILL ANYONE NOTICE OR CARE?

NO, that’s sad.. :(

I wasn’t going to see them in South Africa anyway so I couldn’t care less.

I think they’ve made a big mistake and will loose alot of fans =(

heh can’t be because of poor ticket sales, sydney was listed as one of the original cities and i registered to get tickets when they were due to go on sale, never received that email though cos they kept adding on northern hemisphere dates when it was supposed to be down under

there’s nooooooo way it’s because of poor ticket sales. Luckily, I am seeing them 3 times next week – but I am so disappointed anyways. What a way to go… they didnt end with a bang or even a fizzle. They ended with losing fans.

they sold out here in australia so i dont know what they are on about and they were only playing 1 show here and they were talking about coming to Brisbane and Melbourne cause there was such a demand for tickets. my ass it’s bad ticket sales.

i dont think it was cos of poor ticket sales, the tickets didn’t even go one sale here in australia yet! and Australia was also the only country were their greatest hits went number 1!
