Scarlett Johansson - "W Magazine" March 2008

Scarlett Johansson -

Scarlett Johansson continues to talk up polygamy, tabloid magazines and her support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in the March 2008 issue of W Magazine. Here’s what she had to say:

On humans being polygamous by nature: “I’ve been battered for saying that I don’t believe humans are monogamous by nature. The response was, like, ‘What a ho-bag!’ I didn’t mean that I don’t practice monogamy in my own life—of course I do! I’m not going to be in some tarty relationship. But I stick by what I said. I remember another time, I said I get tested for AIDS twice a year, and again that got spun as me being promiscuous. But I was single at the time, and I think it’s important to do that!”

On her disgust for tabloid trash: “You’re never going to find me at the Ivy. I don’t care how good the Cobb salad is. These tabloid magazines—I think they’re hideous and the downfall of society.”

On supporting Barack Obama: “I will continue stumping for Obama until he’s elected. The past eight years have been painful for a lot of people. We’re in a state of emergency.”

On the absurdity of gay marriage being against the law: “It’s so archaic. It’s just, like, bizarre to me. I feel like in 10 or 15 years’ time our children are going to look back and say, ‘What? You were around when gay people weren’t allowed to get married?’”

love her as an actress and a great beauty but hate her social views.
What she believes in is not going to help our country.

    We want Natalie Portman too.

i really wish that celebs would stop talking about their political beliefs. i start to dislike them for seeming to think that they can sway people or that people are even interested in hearing their thoughts regarding the state of this world’s affairs. they don’t run this world nor do the have the “answers” to any of the world’s complex problems. i find it to be very pretentious. they should keep these things to themselves, do their jobs and let other people do theirs.

    I agree with her.

#4, you do realise these people are human and are allowed opinions and you also do realise that she’s ASKED these questions?

  • bejeebus

i do understand that they are being asked to answer these questions. what i’m saying is, they shouldn’t.

  • lola

Oooh! Another awful photo of a wonderful, smart actress! Amazing interview. Again, I agree with her on all counts.

I think her looks are VERY overrated and she isn’t a great talent, Michelle Williams is more talented…Iam sick of seeing the same boring, limited actress on the covers..put somebody NEW on the covers.

  • mickey

I hope she has learned how to act. It’s kind of obnoxious to tell me who to vote for when she can’t even successfully pull off her chosen profession.

  • Hulla

She’s not telling who to vote for.
    Get over yourself.

Usually beautiful, but here, too much make-up, my Scarlett!

SJ is someone I am always conflicted about. I like that she doesn’t flaunt herself in front of the paps and I thought it was classy that she went to the Middle East to visit the troops. OTOH, there is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. I also think she is a horrible actress and look-wise extremely overrated.

  • kate

people say I look like her but I don’t think she’s that pretty

‘The past eight years have been painful for a lot of people’

Maybe her views would actually count for something if she actually had a painful past 8 years.

I don’t understand what is the fascination with this girl. She’s not all that pretty. She’s not even remotely a good actress and she can’t sing. I think it’s the boobs–plain and simple.

  • janebird

She says some dumb things. You WANTED to be seen as a ho bag. Just like Angelina used to make stupid comments like that to get attention or be viewed a certain way. Smart actors don’t need to make comments like that She just should have kept her mouth shut about that monogamy crap. Was that really neccessary?

And she’s not ugly by any means but she is way overrated just because she tries to be Marilyn Monroe! I remember back when she was considered plain or average by everyone and then suddenly she dyed her hair blonde and started wearing bright red lipstick and pushing her boobs out and acting like she’s Marilyn Monroe!

She’s a wooden actress who is only getting roles because her hype and because that perverted Woody Allen wants to bang her. she’s just a plain version of the more gorgeous and talented Charlize Theron to me.

To anyone who thinks she’s a good actress. Go watch the prestige and compare her to Rebecah Hall (the girl who plays Sarah Borden). Actually, compare her to any of the other actresses or actors in the film.

I’m sure she can act better than the average person. That does not make her a good actress. I have absolutely no idea why this person is considered a star.

  • scarlettJ is fake

SCARLETT Is ONE UGLY GIRL. She has the nerve to cry wolf and accused Us Weekly calling out her nose job. She claimed she has never had any surgery and is “considering” suing Us Weekly.

Anyone with eyes can see she DID have a nose job.

SHE IS AND WAS ONE UGLY GIRL. SHE’S A FAKE!!!! and has no talent and is WAAAAAAAY overrated!
