Longtime couple Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend walk side-by-side down a street in London on Thursday, Valentine’s Day.
Rupert, 27, held a bunch of bright yellow roses for girlfrend Keira, 22. They’ve been together for around two years.
Ms. Knigihtley has two upcoming roles down the pipeline: The Duchess and The Edge of Love.

I think she falls under the category of people who act but not for the celebrity that comes along with it. It’s probably why people think she sounds ungrateful in interviews or whiny. I’ve never seen her that way, but you can tell in these pictures she doesn’t welcome the intrusion of the paps. I can respect that.

I think she is quite lovely and a gifted actress. I liked him too, in the few things I saw him in. But he looks extremely thin right now. Hope they are not indulging in anything bad. Would be so sad.

i heart this couple. there’s just something about them together and individually. i admire keira for being one of the very few serious young actresses these days.

Keira is not an actress.
She has screen presence / charisma but no real apptitude for acting.
She is a product of management parents who placed her in films as a child. These parents are also the architects of her stuck up attitude which makes her feel she is this generations marlon brando and therefore superior to other actors.
Do you remember her dig at Judi Dench when she muddled her lines during the filming of pride and prejudice. You could sense that Keira was full of **** and assumed that she was on the same level as Judi Dench in terms of acting ability.
I think it ia amusing that she thinks of herself as a credible dramatic actress. She is nothing but the ‘it’ girl of the moment and will inevitably be replaced.
To some extent I agree with you, Clara. I do think she honestly believes herself to be more capable than she is. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, per se, just that she’s not very versatile. I don’t see alot of work on her behalf. Maybe I just have high standards, but pretty much every role she’s taken seems standard for her. I think that’s why when I watch her act, I just see Keira Knightley and not her character- which is not a problem I have with most actors, truth be told. Her character in Atonement made sense as a Keira Knightley character; sort of snooty, two-dimensional, love interest. I thought she did well, but not as well as people made her out to be. I honestly think she was overwhelmed by the cinematography, music, costumes, etc. It’s almost as if she were just another beautiful prop herself.
And of course, she did Silk, The Duchess, and Edge of Love: costume dramas, all of them. In two she plays The Wife Of. Most of her roles are identical. It’s beyond boring.
She’s a lovely girl, and while her habit of dressing like a hobo is neither appealing to me or original….actually, I can’t bring myself to say “at least she’s not like Paris/Lindsay”, as I still believe that to be a low standard. But my advice to her is to leave London. Paps are to London what, well, paps are to the Ivy. And she knows it. And she knows that these sullen pics are always taken, bought, and published in the rags. She’s beyond boring.

I just don’t understand the fuss with Atonement. It was Keira Knighlty-Doing-Period-Drama-By-Numbers. Okay acting but…meh. Seen it all before.
