Natalie Portman tops Elle Magazine‘s April 2008 “Intelligent Women Issue”. Here’s what she had to share:
On a party she went to in Hollywood the night before the interview. “They had a psychic, and he told me my whole life will change when I’m 34 and that I should stay away from water.”
On growing up in Jericho, Long Island: “[I was] different from the other kids: I was more ambitious. I knew what I liked and what I wanted, and I worked really hard to get it.”
On a few of her political stances: “A lot of the stuff people say about her, I hear it and my stomach falls because it’s so sexist. You ask people why they don’t like her and it’s because her husband cheated on her! That was obviously not her choice. She’s so much more polished and experienced than anyone else. Last night, a friend, a social worker in L.A. who works with underprivileged kids, was saying how these girls who have never been interested in politics before are so excited that a woman might be president. I mean, look how many women are in government…Hillary’s one of, what, [a handful of] female senators?… I also like Obama. I even like McCain. I disagree with his war stance—which is a really big deal—but I think he’s a very moral person. I met him and Hillary on the same day, actually, when I went to Washington with Finca [a nonprofit that gives loans to businesswomen in developing countries]. Hillary was by far the smartest person I met that day. Just totally focused, and knew more about the issues than anyone else, and was so able to go from one thing to the other.”

It’s great to see an honest, smart, respectable (not to mention talented!) young woman in Hollywood who can be a good role model for girls. Go Natalie!
I love her. She’s beautiful and talented, and smart enough to have intelligent, well thought out opinions on relevant issues and is interested in doing what she can. Love her.

If you think Natalie is boring – a young woman interested in so many different things, takes action, works hard, is so intelligent, is involved in many causes, and is also talented and sweet and polite, then you must be a very dull person who feels she is too much above you to understand. Much like a second grader trying to read Ullysses. Go get on a Britney thread — that’s more your speed.
Natalie is one of the most admirable people, not just celebs or actresses, in the world today. A true role model.
And no, she’s not perfect, because there was only one perfect person ever and He was crucified. But she’s very honorable and worthy of our respect.

yeah for Hillary, the most deserving candidate. The bills she has already helped to pass in the senate and when she was first lady have already raised my qaulity of life. So her man slept around and she has also made mistakes, thats another reason I want to vote for her.
She is a woman who has dealt with adversity and come out stronger even tho the media and many people said she wouldn’t.
Lets give her a chance and have a president who is commited to making America the powerful respected country it deserves to be.

I’m glad she likes McCain, it makes me able to forgive her for liking Hilary too. JK. She’s really bright. It’s hard to resent her politics even when i don’t agree because she’s so informed.
She is absolutely fabulous, she has something special. She is like a chameleon, looks different in almost every pictures. :) :-) :)
