90210 Spin-Off in the Works

90210 Spin-Off in the Works

The CW is developing a spin-off of Aaron Spelling‘s teen soap Beverly Hills, 90210, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas is in talks to write the spin-off project about the world’s most popular zip code.

This series has supposedly been put on the fast track by the network.

This could be really really good… or really really BAD.

Original cast members: Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders), Brian Austin Green (David Silver), Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman).

The original wasn’t any good so this would be a knockoff of a bad show. Great idea.

  • Cynthia

    yay First comment!
    I wouldn’t watch it

  • KarenA

Brenda and Dylan though. That was the couple, I don’t care what the writers tried to say. :)

  • Adria

You forgot Shannon Doherty in the cast.

  • Just Jared

    Thanks, Adria!!

  • Vanessa

No, no, no, and no. It would not work. That show was VERY popular in it’s prime years, and there could only be so much drama and in the end, it barely survived.
Bad idea and plus, I don’t want this NEW show to ruin my one on one time with my Beverly Hills, 90210 DVD sets.

Also, look how the OC survived, barely.

Don’t toy with a classic, something Hollywood needs to know!

  • Regina

90210 was a very 90′s thing, doing it now wouldn’t be any use considering this decade súcks, pop culture wise.

  • TiredofthisCrap

What are they going to be parents to teenagers now!!

    eek. no

  • hey

CW should have kept Veronica Mars on air instead of coming up with crappy shows. But then again CW = Crap Welcome.

Bad idea. They always try to ruin good old tv shoes and movies!

  • ifyousayso

90210 was a classic. it was my favorite show growing up. now i dont really have any favorite show. sometimes when im watching tv i feel like im wasting my one hour time on it.

  • luiza naiff

    i love Veronica mars
I love rob thomas the best

    With certainty will make sure!!!!!

  • sal

wait, the original cast is doing it or new cast?

  • the shiznack

the CW should never have dropped Veronica Mars that ans Smallville were the best thing on channel but VM got cancelled cus the CW didnt push it as much as the other shows. One Tree Hill is one of the most boring shows ever bar Sophia Bush – with its crappy music montages and used up story lines.

    VM rules!

I never thought Brian Austin Green was hot until I watched Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Yowza! That man has aged VERY well!

    great idea

they better reunite Jason Priestley and Jennie Garth…Brandon and Kelly should have been endgame…and they deserved their happily ever after wedding..

  • Alison

I am all for a reunion movie, but not a spin off!

  • gOssipBitch

damn i used to love it…anyway who knows might be even better than the orignal !!

  • tracy

The best thing that ever happened to Dylan was Kelly being written in as his new love interest. Brenda sucked. God I hated her, as did everyone else.

Melrose Place was a spinoff, how do you ‘spinoff’ something that was over 8 years ago?!

  • Cali

I agree with Alison..a reunion show would be sooooo good like an hour special with the original cast catching up etc. But a spinoff show is a bad idea you can’t replace the original just leave it as it was A CLASSIC…u gotta love the 90′s! :)

  • talula

Brenda and Dylan are meant for each other. I’m still mad at the writers for ruining that perfect couple. They could have been on the same level with Ross and Rachel.

  • juls

  • Lunacy

Kelly and Dylan are meant for each other. Soulmates. Brandon belongs with whats her name? Emily Valentine? and Brenda deserves anyone that has pity on her in a London pub. Thank You very much.

  • novak_fan

    BAD IDEA!!!!!

The 90′s ruled because BH90210 so leave it alone.

People on Networks….You don’t have any more FRESH and CREATIVE ideas???? Geez -_-

  • sunshine

I am looking forward to this show. There are no shows like that on any channels that are worth seeing. This might work, or it might not. Let’s wait and see. 90210 was a hit in the 90′s and I never missed an episode. I see the repeats on channel 64 cablevision, soapnet. I see alot of repeats of old shows because reality shows suck!

  • someone

Noooo! They should not touch this show! I mean are they using the same characters or will it be just some young high school kids who live in the 90210?

  • rodeomom2005

I believe if they are going to do a spinoff of the show it should have some if not all of the original characters. I would love to see Brenda and Dylan finally be together once and for all and for them to get married and be happy. Kelly and Brandon should also remember what they had and realize that it was something that they both wanted and should never had messed it up. Not having some of the original characters will make it not seem like anything like 90210.
