Vince Vaughn Fires Manager, Agency

Vince Vaughn has kicked his United Talent Agency and his manager Eric Gold to the curb, reports Deadline Hollywood.

Vince, 37, has been with UTA since 1993 and Gold since 2005. He’s still rep’d by his attorney Debbie Klein.

Mr. Vaughn currently pulls in $20 million per pic but his latest film, Fred Claus, flopped at the box office.

His next film, Four Christmases, costars Reese Witherspoon and opens Nov. 26.

UPDATE: Vince has signed with CAA’s Richard Lovett.

Vince Vaughn actually gets $20 million a movie? You must be kidding!

  • amanda

I have to agree with happy.

    he is incredibly unattractive

  • B.

Why would he not? He had quite a string of box office hits until his last two movies. Guess people forget really easily.

Four Christmases will be a hit too. Vince + Reese = box office gold.

  • B.

OK, how exactly does ones attractiveness equate to how much money they are worth?

  • fresh

i dont see how this is news worthy. who cares?

I hope the implication isn’t that he fired thembecause of Fred Claus. After all, that Wild West Comedy Show film, which was produced by Vince, flopped too.

Given the horror stories of how arrogant Vince is, I’d be willing to bet Gold and UTA say good riddance. Vince was named the most diffficult celebrity to work with just last fall. Gold took him in in 2005 when his previous agent fired him for being “too aggressive”. Vince went from 3 million for Wedding Crashers to 10 for The Break Up and 20 for the dog called Fred Claus. His last movie, Wild West, did 600 thousand dollars. That’s right, big guy. Fire the folks who made you a 20 million dollar actor. Ain’t their fault your last two bombs misfired. They were probably telling you to sober up and lose weight and take a bath – good advice. And I do agree, why is this news?

    Thanks for jogging my memory.

He did jump ship from his previous manager in ’05. I remember that there were speculation that he did so for ‘personal reasons’ (possibly because of ___). Anyway, I kinda think that he’s a sap for leaving this agency. Little was made of Fred Claus and Wild West Comedy’s lackluster box office.

How is it that he didn’t get slammed while Will Ferrell’s box office power was questioned when Semi-Pro made 15M in its opening weekend?

    Semi-Pro – 29M in 17 days versus Wild West Comedy – 600K in 29 days?

  • tINA!!!!!

    He dumped Jennifer Aniston. LOL.

    She must be so embarrassed.

  • WTF

new movie coming out w/Reese?? So will Reese “break up” with Toothy, I mean Jake and take up with Vince to ensure box office gold???

  • Sue

I’ll bet this movie will be a big box office flop like so many of THEIR other movies have bombed. Not too many people are interested in either Vince or Reese. There are many other more talented actors in Hollywood. I can bet this movie doesn’t make it.

Vince who? I never heard of him. Is he in the movies? Who pays him all that money for being a nobody?

I know im a couple of years late in commenting, but i think that Vince Vaughn has done an incredible job. Personally i think he is attractive when he is cleaned up. I also think he is a great actor. I loved Swingers, A cool dry place, psycho, dodge ball, wedding crashers, the break-up, fred clause and four christmas.. and im not just naming his movies i watched and loved all of them and all the little parts he has done. In my opinion, i would take Vince over Brad Pitt (who by the way is not attractive at all to me) anyday in any movie.. I do think he should challenge himself as an actor in more movies. i only got a chance to see a clip of Domestic Disturbance but from what i saw he was great. I do think he should kinda get away from comedy movies because in my opinion anyone can act in a comedy, but in a drama/love/suspense/horror.. those take alot of effort. Maybe he should try a small part in Law and Order: SVU (hint hint). I dont want to drag this conversation with myself on and on but i dont only like him because of his acting but because ive watched interviews of him on like ellen and letterman and hes really down to earth.. he hasnt really shown off any money that he’s made.. if he did make 20 mil. on a movie. I havent seen him buying sports cars and diamond rings or things that people dont need, no matter how much money they have.. i think that is what i like most about Vince. hes a regular guy.. he said his dad was the first one off the dairy farm, so he didnt grow up in the movie scene he took a chance in goin into acting. I think someone said that Vince is “too aggressive”.. maybe he had to be aggressive to work up to being director/producer/writer.. not just an actor that follows orders and slides by on their looks and mediocer acting skills.. Im not trying to be the person that thinks she knows everything because i dont.. but i do know that im 18 and afraid of being sucessful, im afraid to think of where ill be in 10 years and if i can handle the pressure.. i already want to settle down and have kids, but i havent actually started living yet.. i still live with my mom, i dont get everything i want and i dont get anything for free.. just like most people in America.. but i think that if every person in America including myself would be just a bit more aggressive we would all be in a better place.. the way i see it no matter what positon your in there is always a higher postion you could be in and the struggle to the top is the most satisfying accomplishment. And i applaud Vince for not being afraid of what the future might hold..or if he was for overcoming that feeling and someday i hope to.. and i really hope to meet Vince one day.. but i probably wont.

I havent ever commented on posts before but i think whether he fires some one or not is not my business.. if you are in the industry it would be your business.. but i havent heard whos fault it was or wasnt and i dont think it matters it was a decision Vince might not have wanted to make but had to.

Well i think i have said enough.. towards the end of this i was getting off topic, I Apologize, but its how i feel so im not taking it out of the comment… not that anyone will ever read it anyway.

OH, and Good Luck Vince on Couples Retreat and The Dilemma.. they are already out but i havent seen them .. i hope theyre good.
