Justin Chambers' Wild Night Out

Justin Chambers' Wild Night Out

Star Magazine has a pretty upsetting piece on Grey’s Anatony star Justin Chambers–and photographic evidence to justify at least some of their story.

The mag claims the father-of-five drifted in and out of consciousness (at the bar!), rambled incoherently, annoyed patrons and even hit on a waitress!

“He was acting as if he was on drugs, like some kind of downers. His eyes were glazed over. He slurred his words and staggered when he tried to walk,” the eyewitness said. “At one point, he was hunched over a table, then abruptly woke up and shouted out of the blue, ‘I am a father of five kids! I am a damn good father! Leave me alone!’ It was really unsettling.”

Read the full report on Justin‘s night out in Palm Springs at StarMagazine.com.

Justin, 37, checked into the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA Medical Center late January for a “biological sleep disorder”.

clinical insomnia (biological sleep disorder) is thouroughly dibliitating. as sufferers fail to enter REM, they can often end up going quite literally mad…… imagine not being able to sleep AT ALL!! not even with medication. if he does have this, well……. the end result is NEVER good, this is a truly horrific condition to end up with…

why is he doing this to his wife and kids!? Very Sad

scary, i wonder what in the hell he is taking-i hope he’s not taking the oxy contin, but all of them are sooo dangerous. he needs to go stop taking all of that stuff.

Why is he doing this to his family ? Do you read? He has a sleeping disorder. It’s not as simple and non threating as it sounds. It can be very painful and disruptive to the person as well as the family. He’s not doing this on purpose and he’s getting help for it.

As someone who has suffered from severe insomnia most of my life I can tell you that after a few days of not sleeping you begin to exhibit the strangest symptoms, from disorientation, hallucinations, to manic displays of anger and laughter. It’s almost like being bipolar, and closely resembles being on drugs. One of the guys in my sleep disorder group even tried to kill himself just because he needed the sleep. Also, the medications for severe insomnia aren’t always the best things for you. In the late 80′s early 90′s the common medication was Halcyon which actually caused people to have blackouts where they did things or ended up places and had no idea how. There are other meds out now that aren’t as severe but generally most people just stay awake until their body just shuts down from exhaustion. Unfortunately, one never knows when that could happen. I actually fell asleep in class once after 5 days awake and everyone thought I had gone into a coma as I couldn’t be woken up. I woke up 2 days later in the hospital. Stress can also exacerbate the condition and depending on your other symptoms you suffer from can truly drive you over the edge.
If Justin is suffering from clinical insomnia then I seriously hope that he can get the help he needs before he really does go crazy.

eek, the first thing I thought was Heath Ledger. I hope it’s not Ambien, it messes with as many people as it helps.
This is sad, I hope he gets it worked out soon.

WTF at the person asking why he’s doing this to his wife and kids. As if not sleeping is something he’s doing on purpose.

I’m very disappoiinted in you Jared. Instead of posting some nice JC pics you post a link to a story and pics that some jerks took of Justin and sold to a trashy tabloid when he was clearly vulnerable and not himself likely due to some medication he’s taking to control his disorder (Ambien?).

Hmm. I dunno if this is the sleeping disorder or whatever.. but dude needs help, and nd maybe he should stay home if he’s this out of it, so something like this doesnt happen again.

Hey, just wondering, what does that feel like? Do you feel exhausted, but you just can’t seem to sleep? Or do you have energy………..? I mean, how do you even get through the day when you can’t get ANY sleep? After a while, doesn’t the body just shut itself down of exhaustion?

I’m sorry about all the questions. Just curious. :)

Okay fine, he has a “sleeping disorder” HTF does that explain hitting on someone NOT YOUR wife, Being at a bar when he’s got 1 wife and 5 kids at home. Sounds a little convenient to me.

You have that right. The “paps” are only too happy to catch a you at your lowest. He needs help not a photo session.

I hope that he and his family can get through this rough patch with some privacy and dignity…

Forget that he’s handsome, used to model and takes the family to church on Sunday. To display this type of behavior with a wife and 5 kids at home, he must be somewhat of a loser or have a serious problem. Poor family. This is so embarrassing.

The ‘sleep disorder’ is merely a cover story.

His wife has been photographed at Al-Anon – a support group for people affected by someone else’s alcohol addiction.

No need to guess who the ‘someone else’ is here.

People are so naive to buy the sleeping disorder excuse. They’re probably the same people who believe Heath Ledger only took drugs to sleep. Justin is sleeping in a chair at a bar! Doesn’t seem like he is much of an insomniac to me. He is most likely an alcoholic or on drugs.

Even if he has a sleeping disorder and *no other problems*, what’s he doing going out? And why didn’t he get treatment before this? I think that’s a good justification for the “why is he doing this to his family” line of thinking – he has the money and the resources to get treatment for this stuff way before he’s at the waitress-beating stage.

go to rehab!

@ Sam

Umm… do you lack reading skills? The Star magazine article says the “waitress” didn’t serve him any alcohol. He’s not drunk or an alcoholic.

He looks like he took some sleeping pill before going to that bar and then the pill kicked in while he was there which is why he’s basically sleeping in all the pics and looks so out of it. Sleeping disorders are very serious folks. they can completely f*** you up. At least, Justin was humble enough to get some medical help for his condition instead of doing a crapload of pills like Heath. Look at where Heath ended up.
