Jennifer Aniston and long-time producing partner Kristin Hahn have formed their own company – Echo Films, according to Variety.
The company has acquired a number of projects already, most likely vehicles for Aniston.
Universal Studios and Dreamworks are currently working with Echo Films on future projects.

Based on the film’s descriptions in the trades they all sound perfect…for Lifetime Channel programming, not as feature films asking paid admissions.

Maniston Wants to Make Her Own ****** Films!
Jennifer Aniston and her producing partner, Kristin Hahn, have formed their own production company, Echo Films, to develop movies as ‘star vehicles’ for Maniston.
Their company is ‘starting off’ with a first look deal at Universal.
Do we really need more direct to video releases?
Echo’s emphasis will be on producing grounded, relatable material, say Maniston and Hahn.
“We’re drawn to stories about people finding their voice and finding their way because they help us as listeners and viewers do what we feel we’re all trying to do, which is making sense of our lives through the stories of others,” Aniston said. “That’s why we chose the name Echo, to echo back an idea, a challenge, something that resonates through all of us.”

Another issue while Aniston is always quick to deny rumors, about nose jobs, or anything that she feels is damaging to her image, she NEVER denies rumors that put Brad and Angie in a bad light. It is NOW more than obvious that this role was never hers to begin with and the only reason plan B got the rights was due to Brad, not Aniston. When it was announced that Angie would play Pearl, Brad and Angie were put in a bad light, on entertainment shows, and print, the media made it seem like this was her role. Jen did nothing to deny it. Gave interviews and never said anything to correct it.
Honestly Jen should be ashamed of herself and be truthful. The media is not doing thier job, and the next publication or journalist , that interviews this pathetic excuse for a decent human being, needs to ask her the tough questions, ask her point blank to tell the bloody truth.
Do you guys realize that after the divorce, almost every interview she did, mentioned how much she wanted kids, Oprah mentioned it, In Style, Larry King, but the day it was announced that Brad and Angie were expecting, the subject of children has never been brought up again. This trick (Jen’s ) needs to be called out and if she is suppose to be classy, then she needs to tell the truth.

Angelina Jolie will play Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, in a movie produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company, Pitt has confirmed to PEOPLE.
“The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002,” Pitt tells PEOPLE. “We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment.”
Contrary to reports claiming that Pitt’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, “Jennifer was never attached to that role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in the company at the time.” Pitt has been developing the project with Mariane Pearl for two years.
The film will be adapted from Pearl’s memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl, which chronicles her experience after her husband was abducted by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in early 2002. A month later, his captors released a video depicting his murder.
Pearl, a French journalist, was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped and gave birth to their son Adam in May of that year.
“I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book,” Pearl said in a statement released Thursday by Paramount Vintage. “I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.”
The film will start shooting in the fall. It is Jolie’s first dramatic role since the May 27 birth of her daughter with Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.
Earlier this week it was reported that Jolie will lend her voice to the DreamWorks animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in the role of Tigress, a martial arts teacher. The film, due next May, also stars Jack Black

These flicks will provide Aniston with the opportunity for Aniston to use the power of cinema to address everyone in Hollywood who has labeled her as a Pity Party Girl.

For example, Echo plans on adapting the novel Getting Rid Of Matthew, about a woman who destroys a man’s marriage, invents an alter ego and befriends the wife she spurned. Is this a message for Angelina?
Another adaptation, this time of The Divorce Party, revolves around a couple who celebrate their divorce by hosting a soiree. Looking back on the messiness of her divorce with Pitt, Jen may vicariously reenact the way she wished they’d ended things in this part.
And in the most intriguing project, Hahn and Aniston will produce Counter-Clockwise, the true story of a psychologist who attempted “to reverse the aging process of subjects by re-creating the era of their prime.”

I will not knock her down in her attempt to re-establish her herself. It’s the only way she can regain her credibility. Forming her own company is actually a good alternative. Her pictures and projects are not connecting with the public. Hedge Fund managers are too not eager to fund and underwrite her films, for the most part because, the Rachel persona has long ago lost its appeal, and her fatal interview with Vanity Fair to regain sympathy has actually backfired. That “sweetheart” image did not ring true to the public . You can only fool the public so far. She chose to end her marriage in her quest to be a A-list actor. That was an illusion. That “sweetheart persona was simply false, and the public can see thru it. She’s good in being “Rachel”, but only wide range talent can sustained the interest of the movie-going public. The public wants to see Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Jodie Foster, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Renee Zellwieger in their varying and wide range acting.

She is not first one who got divorced, not first one who failed. She cannot use “sympathy and wailing” , She must have a wide range talent to be a sustainable A-lister. She does not.

Still, I also support her choices to pursue her place in the A-list . Albeit that she failed, women are free to pursue their career in lieu of family and motherhood. It is not an easy choice.

What I don’t support is her incessant desire to blame Jolie for her failures. Brad Pitt has move on. He and Jolie have a fantastic family and an A-list status. They serve their country with their local charities, still have time to be global humanitarians. Apparently, A-list is still possible with children and family. They tbelieve that family and children are blessings and not a burden.

Jen’s burden is her inability to use failures as tool for another opportunity. She has sworn in many interviews that she moved on, but again – she lied over and over again. And, until she truly moves on, admit her failures – she will continue to fail. Take that failed marriage, failed pictures and failed A-list to pursue other opportunityies.

Mr & Mrs Smith made $470 million worldwide BO and by the end of accounting hauled in $780 million. Pitt reportedly got something like $80 million out of it. Jolie over $20 million.
How can you compare A Mighty Heart with any of those movies? A deliberately low budget movie clearly not for the mainstream chick flick audience. In any event Jolie received rave reviews fo Heart and much praise for her turn on Good Shepherd. And for what’s it’s worth, she delivered in spades in Mr and Mrs Smith. Though I think that was more of a fun performance piece rather than traditional acting.
The best and only decent movie performance she’s ever given was in the Good Girl and she did that because Pitt urged her to do it.
But at least she’s helping the economy by putting at least Hahn to work.
Way to go jen. Get your own compay since no one in hollywood wants you to star in their films

I take this as a sign that she’s interested in her career again, and that she’s finally recovered from world’s worst breakup. In my opinion, Jen is more suited for TV movies. She was excellent at Rachel, but her comedic movie roles are nothing but reprisals of Rachel. I don’t believe she really has a flair for drama. A. Jolie does well in drama. She won best supporting ? actress for Girl Interrupted; a movie that was meant to make Winona Ryder shine, but everyone, instead, were crazy over Angelina.

The 2 Brads (Pitt, Grey) ran Plan B. Jen was just window dressing, she seldom even visted the offices. The 2 Brads hired Jen’s gal pal KHahn as a favor to Jen. A few films were contemplated for Jen as BradP’s strings helped attach a few tentative never firm projects. Jen was NEVER attached to AMH, the 2 Brads knew she lacked the acting chops. Jen outright lied about AMH and she knows it.
This said, maybe Jen can get some projects going for herself that are a fit for her limited acting ability but it will be difficult. Funding is drying up all over the place for movies. That’s a fact. Jen won’t risk too much of her own money in this venture. If TomC is having funding problems, how is Jen to succeed in this atmosphere. She won’t.
You all need to accept the fact she will be back on tv in a couple of years, that’s a given. Maybe in Friend’s 2 with much of the original cast.
No matter how many films she will make or produce, aniston will not be regarded as a good actress, she is a *ucking tv comedian, who is only funny of what the writers wrote for her to say. Aniston is, simply put, not a very good actress. She does not have range. The only reason that she is still grabbing headlines is because she was the first Mrs. Brad Pitt. And also because she has a good publicist.
Only time will tell where this new company will go. Shortly after Friends ended, there were nearly daily reports of her being signed up for this and that film with this and that big stars (even Meryl Streep) but pretty much nothing came of those projects. More to the point, she has not impressed in any of her films, and goodness knows, she has had her chances thanks to the Brad Pitt connection. People who think that she played an active part in the Plan B company must be delusional.
She should go back to TV but then that might not be so easy either given the changes in the TV business as well.

I just went through the Association’s investment propectus. Hollywood is buzzling about open bidding for the MI4 series after the recent news that Sumner paved the way to get Tom Cruise return to reprise his role. You can bet the senior partners will take serious considerations for a limited investment.

For those few of you critical of Plan B–they’ve produced some really good movies that the critics liked and that received award recognition. Troy bombed, but they also produced Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Departed (Oscar nominated out the wazoo), Running with Scissors (I believe that got a couple of noms also), Year of hte Dog, A Mighty Heart, and the Assassination of Jesse James–all of these films, with the exception of Troy have been hits with the critics.
I think Plan B is going for quality and critical success. Echo will have a hard time competing if that is what JA wants to do. Wish her luck. Her movies sound great for Lifetime TV.

KHahn has no track record in production circles. I don’t see how Jen and Hahn can succeed in obtaining financing for real world movies, they need to get in the tv track as soon as possible and get a deal with Lifetime or maybe seek Oprah’s help.

It’s the Story of Our Search for Danny Pearl. But in This Movie, He’s Nowhere to Be Found.

O n Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, I stood at the gate of my rented house in Karachi, watching my friend Danny Pearl juggle a notebook, cellphone and earpiece as he bounded over to a taxicab idling in the street. He was off to try to find the alleged al-Qaeda handler of “shoe bomber” Richard Reid in Pakistan. “Good luck, dude,” I called, waving cheerfully as he strode off, a lopsided grin on his face. His pregnant wife, Mariane, stood smiling and waving beside me as the taxi pulled away. A gaggle of parrots swooped through the trees above, squawking in the late afternoon sun.
That was the last image I had of Danny until late last month, when a PR executive for Paramount Vantage pulled up to my house in Morgantown, W.Va., in a black Lincoln Town Car. She was carrying a DVD of “A Mighty Heart,” the just-released movie, based on the book by Mariane Pearl, about the staggering events that unfolded after that innocuous moment in Pakistan: Danny’s kidnapping and eventual beheading.
With my parents and a friend beside me, I pressed “play” on my DVD player and settled in to watch. Slowly, as the scenes ticked by, my heart sank. I could live with having been reduced from a colleague of Danny’s to a “charming assistant” to Mariane, as one review put it, and even with having been cut out of the scene in front of my house in Pakistan. That’s the creative license Hollywood takes. What I couldn’t accept was that Danny himself had been cut from his own story.
The character I saw on the screen was flat — nerdy, bland and boring. He’s not at all like Danny, who wrote “ditties” about Osama bin Laden while he was investigating Pakistan’s nuclear secrets and jihadist groups as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal. On screen, he’s warned three times to meet with Sheik Mubarik Ali Gilani — the man with whom he thought he had an interview — only in public. But off he goes, ignoring the warnings. The message: Reckless journalist.
That was nothing like the Danny I knew. As the credits rolled, I murmured to my mother, “Danny had a cameo in his own murder.”
For me, watching the movie was like having people enter my home, rearrange the furniture and reprogram my memory. I’d known it was a gamble when I agreed to help with a Hollywood version of Danny’s kidnapping, but I’d done it because I thought the movie had the potential to be meaningful. I’d hoped it could honor the man I’d worked alongside for nine years at the Journal by explaining why he was so passionate about his work as a reporter. I’d hoped that it would tell the story of the unique team of law enforcement agents, government officials and journalists — of varying religions, nationalities and cultures — that had searched for him. And I hoped it could spark a search for the truth behind Danny’s death.
But the moviemakers and their PR machine seemed intent on two very different and much shallower goals: creating a mega-star vehicle for Angelina Jolie, who plays Mariane, and promoting the glib and cliched idea that both Danny and Mariane were “ordinary heroes.”
I think Danny would have rolled his eyes at that.
In the prologue to her book, Mariane wrote to her son: “I write this book for you, Adam, so you know that your father was not a hero but an ordinary man.” In a movie voiceover, that dedication becomes: “This film is for our son so he knows that his father was an ordinary man. An ordinary hero.”
But there weren’t any real heroes in the story of Danny’s tragedy. Danny would have said he was just doing his job. When he went off that day in Karachi, he didn’t give any impression that he thought what he was doing was especially dangerous. He just had a story he wanted to pursue and an interview he thought would help him. After he vanished, I don’t think any of us, not even Mariane, did anything particularly courageous, either. We each had a duty to try to find him — either as professionals or because of the bonds of friendship or family.
I know that movies need a dramatic arc and that there has to be room for artistic license in the telling of a true story, because reality is often so chaotic. I know that it’s natural to search for a compelling narrative structure to make sense of tragedy and pointlessness. And I do believe that Danny’s last moments, as he declared his Jewishness for his kidnappers’ video camera, showed his strength of character.
But recasting a story just so we can tell ourselves that we’ve found a hero is too easy. It’s the quickest way to convince ourselves that what happened wasn’t such a bad thing, that it had redeeming value, that we can close the book on it and move on with our lives. We do it too often — with television shows about ordinary people with extraordinary powers, with magazine features that extol the

And you find something to laugh at when what she said is so sad and pathetic? This woman willingly participated in all the the pre and post filming activities. She was OK with everything until she realized that her negative viewpoint had not prevailed in the final product. She refused to see that the story was not from her point of view but from MP’s heartbreak. She wanted to story to focus only on DP not on MP at all. No matter than DP parents and sister were very pleased with the film, or that MP was pleased with what was her story, her book, her life, her husband, the slain father of her child.

It seems that recent disses from Angelina Jolie and those gushy rumors in all the weeklies claiming she’s fallen for (yet failed to nab) co-star after co-star have inspired Echo to pursue production of a number of Women Seeking Revenge Against Men themed films. These flicks will provide Aniston with the opportunity for Aniston to use the power of cinema to address everyone in Hollywood who has labeled her as a Pity Party Girl. After the jump, we take a closer look at the projects they’ve lined up to get a sense of what kinds of stories Aniston wants to tell moviegoers.
For example, Echo plans on adapting the novel Getting Rid Of Matthew, about a woman who destroys a man’s marriage, invents an alter ego and befriends the wife she spurned. Is this a message for Angelina? Another adaptation, this time of The Divorce Party, revolves around a couple who celebrate their divorce by hosting a soiree. Looking back on the messiness of her divorce with Pitt, Jen may vicariously reenact the way she wished they’d ended things in this part. And in the most intriguing project, Hahn and Aniston will produce Counter-Clockwise, the true story of a psychologist who attempted “to reverse the aging process of subjects by re-creating the era of their prime.” Did we mention Aniston plans on starring in each of these flicks? Only you frauds take what this woman says as fact. She acted like she was married to Daniel. She disrepected MP. She took the money to be advisor to the film then whine (oh now I understand why you all like her) about it. MP loved the movie. She said she will be proud for their son to see this movie. A co worker opinion pales compared to that.
These are the facts:
1. Angelina is a great actress. She was nominated and won several best and supporting actress roles. Jen is and alway will be “Rachel”.
2. Angie truly cares about the world. She does a lot of philanthropic work and have donated not just millions of dollars but her valuable time. Jen spends her money on cosmetic surgery. When she does donate it is never “that much”, just enough to say she did give something. Considering how much money she makes, she could do better.
3. Angie’s life is full and fulfilling. Having children do that to you. A parent no longer feels her/his needs come first. Children change you to be a better person. Jen has the mentality of a child…”What about me? How about me? Look at me! Me! Me! Me”
4. Angie’s fill do well in the box office because of her. She could carry a movie, much like Jodie Foster. The only reason Jen’s films do well in the box office is because of the other actors in the film. She talks about The Breakup being a box office success. Sorry kiddo but people watched it because of Vince Vaughn. Tha’t why I watched it eventhough I can’t stand you Jen.
5. Angie has found a partner in Brad. Not just a quick infatuation but a genuine understanding and respect for each other. This goes a long way not just in Hollywood but in life. As couples get older, the outside appearance ages and does not appear so appealing. Jen- there’s always plastic surgery even when you are 70 and gray. Hopefully, you will be able to breath through your “small nostrils”, smile in spite of the cheek implants and show facial expressions amidst the restalyn and botox injections and fillers.
Anyway, I still wish Jen luck. But only because I feel sorry for her and her so called life.

Laughing at that ego maniacal Noname. The readers of the Washington Post pretty much ripped her a new one in their comments section for this article. They saw right through her bitterness and jealousy. As well as through her hypocrisy of taking the money and THEN complaining.
Ooooo. They didn’t show her in the scene where a husband and wife are saying goodbye for the last time. Big bad Hollywood.

If you could all just see the HUGE photograph she supplied to the Washington Post that ran with the story – it was almost half a page and depicted her and Danny in a flirty posture at a party. Maybe Ms Noname thought that was cute or somehow indicative of Danny but in reality it was completely insensitive to Danny’s widow. The whole article was completely insensitive to the man’s wife – it is so obvious it kills her that Danny’s wife was more important to the story – and to Danny.
I love, however, how she has no problem riding Danny’s coattails.

With four kids come four very different personalities, which all seem to clash. And the sibling rivalry is brutal.
Maddox, 6, is constantly pushing Pax, 4, around in an attempt to show him who’s boss, says a source. “But Pax is no wimp, and he fights back.”
But it’s little Zahara, 3, who really rules the roost! “She screams and shouts at the boys when she doesn’t get her way,” says the source. Not even Shiloh, 22 months, is safe — and the toddler has the battle scars to prove it. “Z is always pushing or scratching her.”
Zahara’s picking on Shiloh is usually motivated by snacks. “Z once clawed Shiloh’s cheek after she tried to take her cookie,” says an insider who witnessed one incident. “She’s always pulling on Shiloh’s hair so she can steal her food.”
And little Shiloh has more than her hair to worry about! Recently while Shiloh’s three older siblings roughhoused, she got knocked down and chipped a tooth! “Angie gets worried when Shi plays with them,” says the insider. “She always comes back with a scraped knee or a fat lip!”
In fact, another source says food is a problem with all the kids and blames much of their rowdiness on a poor diet. “They eat fast food, pizza, chips and sugary soft drinks,” says the source. “Brad and Angie let them eat what they want because it brings harmony to the chaotic household.” To make matters worse, the insider adds, “because bedtime is whenever the kids feel like it, they get overly tired and cranky. Brad and Angelina don’t like to be too strict.”

And the Good Sheperd was Matt Damion’s film not hers. And A Might Heart was her film but it was about a very sensitive subject one that too many people are still not willing to relive. Now Mr and Mrs Smith was one of her films along with Brad and it did great. #179 who really knows what goes on behing closed doors. The magazines will say anything to make the sell. I grew up in a family of 8 and with that many personalities there were time when we didn’t get along but we all turned out just fine.

Pity Party Princess first/foremost goal is the A-list. Family and children are a burden in her quest for Oscar. She consciously ended her marriage. Some will disagree, but personally, I can’t fault her for that. Women are forced to make hard and unfair decisions to remain viable in the workforce. Women can relate to that.
Aniston’s unrealistic goal was a predictable failure. She lacks talent, credential or savvy to sustained A-list. Her marriage to Brad Pitt boost her career. And when it was time to make a family, she opted to pursue the A list dream. She failed.
Worst, her ex-husband’s new found love and children are a family, albeit the pressure and scrutiny they face. It’s killing her pride and ego. Not so easy to admit failure.
Jolie-Pitt believed children are a blessing, never a burden. Evidently, Jolie can have it all – children, a man who put her on a pedestal, an A-list career to boot. Topping that, they find time to participate in community activities and are global humanitarians. Can Aniston top that award-winning actress, a doting mom, global humanitarian and a member of the Foreign Council Relation ?

Well, If I have a little bit too much in my glass, I even will difficult to find my own bathroom ;-)! Wow, let’s just say what you say is correct, I feel sorry for Jen! Yes, I know how difficult it is to raise a film-budget (“know” is too much). Like many “stars” do, I also believe that Jen uses her company to finance her next movies. Still, it is jobs for many people. To tell you the truth, I never consider her as “star power”. She is a “nice little girl from next door”. I am never so amazed about her “fine unnecessary things”. I am only glad that she decided to change (I hope it is not too early to say that). If she returns again to her “normal” activities, may be she will loose my attention com-ple-te-ly. Brad buys a Malibu home, and then here comes Jennifer. hmmmmmmmm could Angelina be right that Jen and Brad are still talking? You wonder why? Jennifers press agent has to follow Brad and Angelina with some stupid story about Jennifer. Come on people, she is a TV actress, not a film actress…there is no comparison.

Wow! being from LA myself, you are right-on! I get the feeling you are in the industry the way you come across. I watched her on TV during one of the TV awards (forgot which) where she was sitting with the cast of Friends, and Brad standing in the back of the room not wanting to take away her ‘attention’ of the night. Thinking to myself, the gal thinks she’s a big time Movie Star, the next award show Brad didn’t show at all. I knew right then and there, this gal WANTS to be #1, screw Brad Pitt and his wanting a family!!! It was Jennifer, me, myself and I all the way……Pleeze the gal will never be a Movie Star, stick with TV, and stop using Angelina to get your face on a magazine. Well, I am not nuts to hope. In this crazy situation, hope helps. Somehow I have the same opinion, women should fight. Women should be strong and willing. It is not the time anymore to whine, for a while is okay, but not all the time. Everybody who form a company always want to have profit. I would be naive to say that she “only” wants to create jobs.
BP is an inspiration for many people, even for JA (in my case it is Jude Law). Maybe she can follow his steps, by doing carefully with her money. I do hope her company will run well. And I do hope, for my sake, she stops this beaching, tanning, shopping, and most of all, whining!
