Mariah Carey arrives at Selfridges in London on Tuesday to promote her single, ‘Touch My Body.’
Asked if she has thought about surpassing the Beatles for the most Hot No.1 Singles, Mariah responded, “I do, because people bring it up (laughs). But it’s not like I sit around thinking about that type of stuff while I’m creating something. I did write this record in terms of wanting it to be a lot of songs that could potentially be singles, because people like that.”
Mariah‘s latest album titled E-MC2 could help her surpass music legends in the charts. Mariah, 39, is currently tied at No. 2 with Elvis Presley for the most Hot 100 No. 1 singles, with 17, while The Beatles are at the top with 20.

It’s the best she’s looked in years. IMO…because she is covered up and not flaunting her boobs…she is sexier being less revealing. Leaving something to the imagination is ALWAYS sexier. Also, it looks like she’s dropped a few lbs. Keep it coverd Mariah, be about the music, otherwise you cheapen yourself.

MARIAH has passed Elvis with 18 #1′s on billboard’s hot 100!!!!!
This week marks 78 cumulative weeks for Mariah at the #1 spot on the Hot 100. She is only 2 weeks behind Elvis Presley who holds the all-time record!
“Touch My Body” debuts at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart (issue date: April 12, 2008) with a record-breaking total of 286,465 downloads this week. This is not only Mariah’s best digital sales week, but the best debut-week of digital sales by any artist. Rihanna’s “Umbrella” held the previous record with sales of 277,000.
Also Madonna did break a record too, she is now the person with the most top 10 hits on the billboard hot 100 at 37. She however has only 12 #1′s.
Both are breaking records this week, This is the first time since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital sales in 2003 that two titles debut simultaneously on Hot Digital Songs with more than 200,000 downloads each. The week also marks the best single-week digital tally in either artist’s career.

Loved Mariah when she arrived on the scene. After her breakdown, I just couldn’t take her. She seemed really broken and strange. Still couldn’t deny her voice & music tho. Now recently, she’s on a roll again. Better than last year it seems. Happy, first of all. Looking physically better than ever and still pretty. Expecting great things for her in 2008. Yay Mariah. i think now tht she is married she will learn to dress well but then if her man likes it why not dress as he wishes beautiful lies in the hands of the beholder.
