BATTER UP
Justin Timberlake put on his cleats and dressed up in a Corpus Christi Hooks uniform for his new movie, The Open Road.
The filming took place at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, prior to a Hooks exhibition game against the Round Rock Express.
In the movie, Justin plays the son of a former baseball legend (Jeff Bridges), who tries to reconnect his father with his ailing mother (Mary Steenburgen).
Kate Mara (Brokeback Mountain,We Are Marshall) stars as Justin’s love interest.

Whataburger Field?! LMAO! What a name for a stadium, lol!
I played in the minors, didn’t make it to the show, injuries etc. I do like Baseball movies granted that the actors are real athletes. I’m now an actor. Done some notable roles of which I will not divulge for various reasons.
Having said all that, he doesn’t fit the bill. Talented entertainer he may be, a professional Baseball player he isn’t. Look at the pictures and try to ignore his facial features for a moment. He’s off balance. His swing is early. Honest to God he looks as if he’s in little league. I can’t wait to see him throw.
I hope he proves me wrong, but I take exception to Studios hiring these actors for parts like this when they really have no business being out there (rent the “Jimmy Piersol Story” starring Anthony Perkins, you’ll see what I mean), only because of their name. I get it, you have to fill seats, at least Charlie Sheen and Kevin Costner can actually play the sport. They look realistic, isn’t that the ultimate goal of the film maker.
I could care less if he plays ball…the boy can dance. the new madonna video with him in it makes me hot.

I totally agree with Jay at #12. Couldn’t JT spare a few quarters for a couple rounds down at the batting cage before going to the set? His swing is TERRIBLE. I bet he went spinning around like a ballerina after swinging through that meatball. Lose this twerp and get an actor that has some decent knowledge of the game!
