OlderMadonna Feeling a Bit Blue
Madonna wears a colorful blue ensemble for her daily workout at her gym which is next door to her house.
Perhaps Madonna will be feeling a little less blue after she appears in Malawian court in two weeks when a judge will decide whether or not she can adopt a child.
There are some civil rights lawyers who are fighting to block Madonna‘s requested adoption of the two-year-old child David Banda.
Activists in the country are demanding a change in the law to prevent foreign adoptions.
Madonna met the child in a Malawian orphanage a year and a half ago and began adoption proceedings in 2006.

well I think the issue with the law has to more to do with preventing illegal adoptions and really isn’t focused on Madonna’s capability to raise David or provide a better life…
the group feels that if the court bends the laws for Madonna, then this could lead to further laws being disregarded and before you know it, you could have black market adoptions…
Adoptions are wonderful yes- but there is a protocol to follow (whether we agree or disagree with a country’s adoption requirements) and the rules shouldn’t be mended to appease a celebrity or someone with a lot of cash…
I agree that David will get a wonderful life and grow into a healthy and safe adult, but just because we feel that way, it doesn’t mean that babies should be handed over without a procedure or a set of rules to follow…since Malawi really didn’t have a proper adoption network set up, I think the group is attempting to somewhat correct that…so I think we should see it from both angles rather than condemn the human rights group and praise Madonna…
maybe both truly have the best interests of the children at heart and are coming from two entirely different perspectives…

The world is becoming a smaller place. After watching American Idol the other night, the disease in Africa, and the need for outreach felt overwhelming. What about the orphans right here in America, in the Bay City that wants to give you a key to the city, Madonna? Since when does being rich allow anyone to do any thing? These issues should be examined more closely in foreign policy. This is an age of information. The outreach and then adopting of foreign children seemed to begin with the British pop-stars, and Princess Diana wanting to do that outreach, which is great. But it seems to me to become more and more hypocrisy when the American-born rich never take the time to turn around and focus on what is happening in their own back yards, from whence they came…

Wow, Madonna may have singlehandedly deprived future children in Malawi the chance to be adopted into families outside that poverty stricken country all because she, her narcissist Madgesty, didn’t have enough patience to follow procedures. Way to go Madonna.

Interesting because when Saint Angelina Jolie adopted from Cambodia, government officials and others received secret funds. Now, nobody can adopt from Cambodia. But lets not insult St. Angeline!

I’ve seen a whole collection of unretouched photos of her and I’ve got to tell you that in about 98 of all 101, she looks amazing, including a shot of her breasts, and yes, they look more than just “pretty”, healthy or natural for her age.
I really hope she will succeed in the adoption process…
