first. congrats to cate but what a name for the little guy ha.

# 2

Congrats Cate and Andrew!

I wonder if she will still be going to the 2020 Summit on the weekend?

# 3

Dumb name but at least his last won’t be Blanshit.

# 4

Congrats to the sweet and brilliant Cate and her family!

# 5

Congrats to them! Not fussed on the names she picks out for her kids, but stil better than some celeb baby names.

# 6

Dsahiell and Roman are great but Ignatius belongs back in the 16th century.

# 7

she’s “great” in what?
Her Elizabeth shouldn’t have been @ the Oscar’s-a failure.

# 8

I love her and both of the first two’s names but Ignatius? WTF Cate? That’s random even for her.

# 9

I like the name!

Reminds me of a school or a Catholic parish….

They could call him Iggy!

congrats to the couple….but the name…pretty weird

Congrats to Cate and Andrew! That name is awesome! St. Ignatius was the pupil of the Apostle John for anyone who wants to know. I’m not sure if the religious affiliation is what inspired them, but it’s certainly a bold choice for a name but not surprising coming from an actress like Cate. She is kind of known for being daring, bold and always going against the grain. It’s unique and bold just like her, I like it.

oh yes and to #7-Cate the Great is very befitting. She is “great” at everything she touches and if you’re unable to see it, I pity you. She IS Queen Elizabeth I for me!

congrats to cate, time sure flies by quickly! what happened to jessica alba? the name is sure random but love cate for not making a fuss about names lol. i wished it was girl though…she already has 2 boys but im still happy for her.

#7, okay so maybe elizabeth flopped but her performance was great. ever heard of the movies the aviator, notes on a scandal or im not there?

Congrats to Cate and her family !
People stop being rude ! You don’t like her son’s name and so what ? They like Ignatius ! It’s better than Peaches or Apple ! I think Ignatius is unique. They can always call him Martin.

i’m sure his ignatius is as adorable as his two brothers.

Another boy :) congrates Cate and Hubby!

Congratulations to Cate & Andrew!

Congrats to the happy family!

But Ignatius? Oh that poor boy.

congrats! i hope they try again and get a little girl though! one that looks just like her.

Congratulations! Another beautiful boy, you are awesome and so special in this, let’s say, “not so well-adjusted world”.

CONGRATS!!!! I wish this time they had a girl though….wish good health to mother and son.

Congratulations Cate! And let’s just point out that she is in that group of serious respected actors that wouldn’t dare sell photos of theri babies to magazines. Cate Blanchett has been so good in keeping the focus just on her work that unlike all these girl hollywood women having babies these days, she makes sure the media interest is just in her work not exploiting her children in the press.

sounds like a name from “Harry Potter”: 19 years later, lol)

Elizabeth didn’t bomb, it didn’t pretty darn good for a film about the Elizabethan times, not to mention its several oscar nominations (and win).

I wish her a girl in a couple of years if she isn’t too tired already. LOL.

Lol @ the idiots discounting her films because the only sh** they connect to is tried and played out, generic commercialized films. She already acknowledged the kind of films she does aren’t always “popular”, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t critically acclaimed.

Anyway, congratulations to Cate

I’m waiting for the idiots to make fun of Daniel-Day Lewis next loool because he doesn’t do stuff like Shrek and Spiderman.

anonymous @ 04/14/2008 at 1:43 pm

at least she didn’t name him audio-science lol

I think IGNATIUS Is an awful name and it just begs to be shortened to “Iggy” which is equally horrifying.

Congratulations to Cate and family!
Love the name, very strong, and most important has a meaning, not like other people in HW, that name their children after a object, or a movie caracter or diseases, some strange things.

Oh. a christian name in HW, we don’t see that very

To Jared–

Not that I care, mind you, but why is my post STILL being withheld? I can’t for the life of me figure out why.

For all those people hung up over the name- get over it, it’s not your choice and Cate and Andrew obviously like it.
Beside, who said he’s gonna get Iggy, there are other names the kid could get too, like ‘Nate’. And there’s nothing at all ‘wrong’ with that….

Ignatius? Good Grief. Just write beat me up on the kids forehead. Let’s hope they call him Iggy.

what’s up with celebs and the old and weird names they pick for their kids. what the hell she gonna call ignatius for pet name? should have been martin first.
