CSI's Marg Helgenberger Got Milk

CSI‘s Marg Helgenberger is the latest celebrity to join the national Milk Mustache campaign.

The current campaign salutes moms nationwide for playing the important role of nutritional gatekeeper – or “Chief Health Officer” – to their families and making sure they drink milk every day.

Helgenberger‘s mustached photo will feature in a new print ad as well as in grocery story dairy cases nationwide saluting mom as Chief Health Officer.

Her ad copy reads, “Sitting pretty. Searching high and low for how to look great? In my role on TV and as a mom, I never miss a thing. So here’s a clue: Studies suggest the nutrients in 3 glasses a day of lowfat or fat free milk can help you maintain a healthy weight. And the protein helps build muscle for a lean body. Mystery solved.”

So the powers that be are still pushing this propaganda and stars will still sell their mother to make a quick buck.

I think Marg needs to go to the NotMilk website and we will then see if she is happy to flog this crap to the masses.

I am not being nasty or negative about Marg – I don’t actually know who she is, I don’t watch her show.

BUT I am being negative about the Dairy Corporation using stars to sell its poison.

Dairy is NOT good for your health. Milk is NOT good for your health.

It makes me angry to see stars are being paid to promote this poison.

If Marg were promoting cigarettes, I think there would be a national outcry…….YET……dairy is just as bad for your health as nicotine is.

I was wondering if you could explain why you feel milk is bad for your health, as bad as nicotine. I’m not trying to run your opinions down, I agree that too much dairy isn’t the healthiest thing, just as too much of any food group isn’t the best idea. But dairy is a good source of calcium, which is need for the growth and upkeep of bones. Plus, I can never say no to good vintage cheddar. :)

    In reply to Desert.

Calcium can be sourced from many different food sources; you don’t need dairy for calcium.

Too much calcium obtained from dairy sources actually contributes to a number of different health issues, including brittle bones.

Dairy directly contributes towards eczema, psoriasis, and things like bronchitis (especially in children)

The fat from dairy blocks your arteries, adds to your cholesterol, which leads to heart attacks.

Non-organic or non-biodynamic dairy contains traces of antibiotics which are given to the cattle and also traces of toxic pesticides that are strayed on the cattle’s food.

However, the worse disease caused by dairy is Breast Cancer.

The dairy corporation knows about these health issues but they are a billion dollar industry, who are here to make money for themselves and their shareholders.

I enjoy a vintage cheddar too but it still makes me angry to see stars selling crap like this.
