OlderAvril Lavigne Launches First Fragrance

Pop rocker Avril Lavigne has struck a licensing deal with Procter & Gamble Prestige Products to launch her very first fragrance in 2009, reports WWD.
“Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her,” said Heike Hindenlang, global marketing director for Procter & Gamble Prestige Products. “We think we can reach out to new consumers with her scents. It’s about finding which brands appeal to young consumers and [which] fashion and celebrities are resonant with them.”
Avril said she was very pleased “to be working with Procter & Gamble on releasing my first fragrance. Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone.”

My gosh, aren’t there enough perfumes on the market’s? Why do all celebrities and songwriters, think they have to have their own clothes design line, or handbag line, or perfume line, or cookbook, or chef show, or childrens wear, or jewerly line or lingerie wear line. Even hair extension line, and make-up lines. Why, why, why? Can’t they just stick to what they do best? Most of these things do not pan out. Oh, yeah. Don’t forget the, SHOES. Like we don’t have enough shoes, already. Has anyone done Hats? Gloves? Diapers? Bottles? I just read shampoo and conditioner is being done under a new Green Label. UMMMMM. Any thing to make an extra dollar. Car seats? Diaper Bags? Strollers?///////////// Stop it already.

gosh these famous ppl get into everything they are never fine with being good at one thing they have to do it all, act, sing, launch different lines like fragrances and clothes and shoes……and then they shoot promotional commercials they leave no room for anyone new to come into the business.
