OlderDavid Beckham Gets Tight With Emporio Armani
David Beckham is introduced by Macy’s West CEO Jeff Gennette at the unveiling of Macy’s New Emporio Armani Underwear advertising campaign on Wednesday in San Francisco, California.
David, 33, met and signed autographs for the first 175 fans who bought 200 dollars worth of Emporio Armani men’s underwear.
A three-year deal, in which Beckham will receive an annual fee (rumored at £10 million) plus royalties, is unprecedented for any athlete and will cement his status as the world’s best paid soccer player. The 73-year-old Italian designer has become friends with both David and Victoria Beckham and factored into deal they struck.
The new collection will hit stores in the U.S. in August and Europe in July.

Some people on the other threads for Beckham’s new Macy’s ad in NY were saying that it is innappropriate to put this up in public because he is in his underwear. Why? It is not like this is the first time an underwear ad has been used in public. First, this is 2008 not 1950 and second have you already forgotten the famous Marky Mark Calvin Klein posters of the 90′s? been there done that. no harm has been done.

OMG no man will even come close to being as hot as Marky Mark was in his Calvin Klein ads. I like Becks but he is no Marky Mark.
Why he degrades himself like this when he is a father to three sons is beyond comprehension… just proves what’s been said about this over-rated “couple” all along… they are greedy, greedy, greedy… as if all the millions they have already acquired aren’t enough… he may be “easy on the eyes”, but he and his fugly wife are definitely made for one another- both are selfish, shallow, narcissistic, self-absorbed and always looking for more, more, more! I think your comments are niave–this is how ALL famous sports figures make their money, but endorsements and ads. Or are you just offended by doing an underwear ad? Do you hate ALL models? Just male models? Only male models who have children?
And considering that Becks is a good father, he and his wife have been married for over ten years and appear quite happy together, that he isn’t in jail for DUI, dog fighting, bar brawling, steriods, drug use, etc., I think he is head and shoulders above a lot of sports “stars”:

What my point is if you took the actual time to read it through is that at a certain time in one’s life when one has CHILDREN, one’s PRIORITIES should change and it should NOT BE ALL ABOUT PROMOTING one’s self in their skiivies! I would have MUCH MORE RESPECT for Mr. Beckham if he chose to promote gatorade, adidas, nike, sports H2O with class and dignity NOT degrading himself by stripping down… this is all the Beckhams’ know how to do because without their over-use of their BODIES, their talentless selves would shine right on through…
I do not begrudge anyone their wealth what I do not like or appreciate is one’s blatant indulgence in self and narcissistic behavior regarding that wealth! Wish they were as passionate about sharing their enormous wealth with people less privileged as they are passionate about staying in the limelight and making more money.
Good for them that they became so rich, but at some point wouldn’t you just want to use just some of that money to make the world a better place somehow.. and not for PR-purposes but out of genuine compassion.

I always get the impression that the Beckhams are kind and charitable people in interviews. They obviously enjoy their celebrity, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that as long as they give back.
