Penelope Cruz takes a big bite on the set of her new movie Broken Embraces with Pedro Almodovar in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old actress will be teaming up with Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard on a musical number for the movie musical Nine. The trio will be singing a new song called Take It All.
Penelope will also be a singing a duet with Nicole Kidman, called Simple. The Spanish actress will be playing the seductive mistress, Carla, in the film.

Penelope and Nicole singing together? Geez, I never would have thought six years ago….
won’t that be akward? wasn’t Penelope Cruz the reason behind Tom divorcing Nicole and then she suffered a miscarriage from the stress?

#2 I don’t think Penelope had nothing to do with Tom and Nicole’s breakup. They started dating a while after Tom had filed for divorce. But they are all grown ups and it’s been ages since either of them were with Tom, so Im sure they’ll be fine. It is going to be so great to see Nicole, Penelope, and Marion sing together. Although I wish Nicole hadn’t botoxed her face so much!

Since it’s highly unlikely either woman was in the dark about the other’s participation in this film, if both of them signed on, then both must have felt comfortable enough about it.
As for Tom’s and Penelope’s relationship? Just because he didn’t openly “date” her until later in 2001 doesn’t mean that nothing was going on between them earlier. After all, Tom filed for divorce while filming “Vanilla Sky” with Penelope. Simply a coinicidence? You be the judge(s).

Remember Tom and his beard at James Packer’s wedding in France last year? Right after the wedding, Katie flew back to the US alone to audition for a role in Nine. Obviously, she didn’t get it. What makes her think she would. She was probably humiliated because Nicole and Penelope are both in the play and begged and pleaded with Tom to buy her the role in All my Sons. Boo hoo, Katie. We all know how you got the role and it wasn’t because you are talented.
Katie should be doing dinner theater on a cruise ship. She probably couldn’t succeed at that either.

Actually, Nicole Kidman is indebted to Penelope. At first she didn’t like her, I’m sure, but if Penelope had not come along, Tom may not have dumped Nicole. Wouldn’t it be something if Penelope and Nicole became good friends and wrote a tell all book about Tom?
I’m very excited to this project: “Nine”… Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard (after her well deserving Oscar for La vie en Rose), Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman… THAT?S SOUND AWESOME!!!!

That was a way back and probably both women feel comfortable enough to put it behind them and move on. It’s nice to see them dealing with it like adults. I always felt Kidman is a class act, much more so than he is. I think the two of them plus Cotillard will work very well together.
mjkbk — uh, problems don’t suddenly come up in a happy marriage when you meet another woman and you file for divorce after ten years and two kids. There had been problems in that marriage since Eyes Wide Shut. Usually a third party is just the aftermath, when the bonds are already broken.
In London, when Nicole was performing in The Blue Room after Eyes Wide Shut, the marriage was known to have serious problems with Tom’s jealousy of his wife’s critical acclaim. They avoided each other and were only together for the kids, but Nicole though when she got pregnant it would bring them back together. Instead, Tom surprised her with a divorce.
This is inspired casting. Three international powerhouse actresses, all at the top of their game. Absolutely wonderful.
Penelope is a knockout. She gets more beautiful all the time.
I LOVE all the actors/ actresses in this film! I so look forward to seeing it when it comes out. :) I think it’s great that Nicole and Penelope team up. Why would they let that freak Tom get in the way of a great project!?
