All grown up!
Actress Dakota Fanning arrives at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual summer luncheon held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday in Beverly Hills.
The Charlotte’s Web actress is now 14 and enterting 10th grade! Dakota broke through at the age of 7 with her performance in I Am Sam. She also had an impressive performance in War of the Worlds where director Steven Spielberg praised her ability to show “how she would really react in a real situation.”
Dakota recently recalled receiving the award for Best Young Actor/Actress from the Broadcast Film Critics Association and needed Orlando Bloom to lift her up to the mic! Ms. Fanning told Pop Tarts, “I met him again later on the set of War of the Worlds and we talked and had a laugh about it. It was funny, but I’m actually a bit embarrassed thinking about it now.”

14 is entering 9th grade, but maybe she’s homeschooled or something, because they’re usually ahead. Or maybe she’s young for her grade…? She looks young for 14, though.

my aren’t we being shallow today. instead of focusing on the what’s good about the little girl “we” have to focus on what you consider to be imperfections let me guess, you want her to go and get her teeth fixed so that they won’t personally offend you.
She always had a head start. she learned how to read at age 2 and went to the first grade at 4. So she is just verry smart.

Wow, how wonderful to see a young girl who looks like a young girl. Her parents are doing a wonderful job with her. Ummm, don’t recall seeing her on youtube putting down another girl. Also she does not look like a hooker; Miley, Ali… others too many to name. She is a wonderful actress who has worked with some of the best actors around. Maybe the other girls who want that kind of fame should use her as a role model. I hate when girls rush to grow older, then when they are older, they pay through the teeth to look young again.. Some world we live in.

You might look older, but you should spend less time in front of the mirror and more time learning how to properly speak (it’s ‘my friends and I’, not “me and my friends’, unless you want to say ‘me went to the store’, ‘me don’t look that young’. Just drop the “and” and what comes after it to know if you should be saying ‘me’, so you don’t sound like Tarzan saying “me Tarzan, you Jane”).
I’m glad Dakota has learned how to carry herself with poise and learn basic communication skills, like speaking and writing.
Dakota looks just fine. I don’t know the expectation now is for 14-year-old children to be caked in make-up and large-breasted with it all hanging out and skirts hiked-up. The rest of you, as remember the truth said, should be spending less time in the mirror perhaps.
Dakota had braces and her teeth are greatly improved.
She looks ten-thousand times more appealing and is ten-thousand times more talented than all those Disney cash-cows, posing in scandalous photos on myspace like MiHoley and arriving with their faces caked with make-up and still looking worse then fresh-faced.

It is possible for her to be 14 and going into the 10th grade, I have a daughter who is 12 now and will be entering the 8th grade this year so when she is 14 she will be entering the 10th grade. She could have skipped a grade or like my daughter she started in kindergarten at the beginning of school and when the school year finished she was in 1st grade and she went to 2 grade the following year, so it is possible for her to be 14 and going into the 10th grade.
Dakota= home-schooled= ahead typically. Plus, someone could just simply check her birthday. She could be turning 15 shortly into the school year. I don’t know what the big deal is though.

@ prim Madonna’s young daughter is called names because she is not doing anything in her eyebrows yet, it seems like she is waiting a bit more to tweeze and shave.
Some complain as if it was a rite of passage that HAS to be done the earlier the better for everyone, specially celebrities’ children. There are enough ali lohans out there. I love that a girl stays a girl a bit longer and is not pushing herself (or is pushed by social pressure or momagers) to look older.

She reminds me of a young Jodie Foster. I think she’s always been exceptionally talented, especially for a ‘child’ actor. She looks very natural and pretty, much more so than overdone and overly made up Ali Lohan.
